When a boarding school master at an exclusive boys' school is shot dead, it is deemed accidental. A lazy and usually drunk detective is sent to write up the report. Long
This story set in Australia, features sexual abuse of children. Also the Detective is a recent widow and an alcoholic. A fair amount of the story deals with those issues. The narrator did an excellent job.
