Good Story

This was a nice, quick, suspenseful story. I thought the story was well done and I did not see the ending coming. The characters are likable and for the most part seem very realistic.

I really enjoyed the story. I just wish it had been a little longer. I was a little confused in the beginning because the listener meets many of the main characters very fast. It was non stop from start to finish. Had it not been for needing to go to bed, I probably would have listened to this in one straight sitting instead of two. Both because it was short and well done.

I really liked Bolton Hill's voice and think he did a great job. I do wish there had been two voice actors, one female and one male, as I find that helps when their are multiple points of view.

I did receive this audio book at my request, and I have voluntarily left a review.

A Touching Romantic Suspense

I thought the author did a pretty good job writing this story. The story is relatively touching, with Nick being so protective of Izzy but also trying to do his job well. I think the love developed seemed genuine and the characters were well written. I would have liked for there to be more suspense than there was though.

First time hearing this narrator, I was impressed with the performance and would certainly listen to him again.

Love grows from tragedy

I really enjoyed this book. Julia is in an accident and in a coma in the hospital when Jake is assigned the case. He is drawn to her as she lay in the hospital bed and when she is released he loves any excuse to communicate with her. There is mystery and danger in this book that he is trying to solve and keep her safe. Surprises for sure. Theirs is a sweet love story brought about from an accident.

Bolton Hill does a great job narrating this book. I love his voice and he kept my attention from start to finish. I received a code to listen and review and give my honest opinion. I really enjoyed it and recommend it.

Love & Homicide

This book will have you questioning everything until the very end. I can’t say too much without any spoilers but will say that this is definitely a book worth your time.
Narration in this book was great. Bolton kept you entertained throughout the entire thing.

Loved it to death.

First I have to mention that this book was given to me free of charge for exchange for an honest review. As always this does not alter how I review the gifted books. I am always honest in my reviews.

Now onto the review. The story was good. It kept my attention throughout the story.

Mystery thrillers are my favorite so this was the perfect book for me, but probably wouldn't be something for people not into the genre.

I enjoyed the narration as well.

Overall it is a 4.5/5 stars

FANTASTIC NARRATION

I'll have to admit, going into this book I was concerned that a male narrator was narrating a story that held primarily a female POV, but Bolton Hill did an absolutely STUNNING job with all of the characters and POV. I was able to completely immerse myself into the story without that feeling of distance that some narrators create.

I'm a huge fan of romantic suspense, and while this book wasn't that... suspenseful, I thought it was well composed, funny, and cute. I loved all of the characters and the story; I could definitely see myself picking up and reading (or listening to) the rest of the books in the future.

My only two issues with this book came down to (one) I didn't really like how the plot was handled after the chapter when they were at the ranch; and (two) I was not a fan of how religion was handled in this book. Look - everyone can have their own beliefs, but in some aspects, I feel like religion was portrayed negatively.

suspense with Romance

a very very good story it was very interesting and very well written I will not say the book was thrilling because I will not call this book a Thriller it's more like suspense very good suspense story with Romance and the fact that the story isn't that long and kept the main issues with the Romantic Parts was great and very interesting

Love & Murder!

I love finding new authors and this being my first Paula-Michelle Trotter book was a wonderful surprise. Full of action packed suspense and romance, her story of Jake and Julia is complete entertainment. Julia is a children's author who was in a horrible car accident and is now being accused of murdering the child she hit. Jake is the officer investigating. But there is more to this accident than meets the eye and Jake is going to find the answers. But will his heart get in the way? This is a passionate story, with twists and turns that make you cringe! Bring in Julia's parents, her ex, travel to a ranch and some intense action and we have a great romantic suspense!

Bolton Hill does a wonderful narration of this story. He is a new to me narrator, but I will definitely be looking for more by him. He has a great flow, a variety of voices and an great sound that made the listen enjoyable.

Great Beginning to the Series!

This is my first book by this author and I was quite pleased with it. It was a nice quick listen. Julia’s ex was a piece of work and Jake was a doll; a handsome, sexy one at that. I am glad the series continues beyond the first book. Looking forward to Nick and Izzy's book.

This is my first time listening to Bolton Hill. He did an awesome job as narrator. He clearly differentiated between the characters and he has a great voice for romance. I put Bolton Hill up there with some of my favorite male narrators such as Sebastian York, Joe Arden, Aiden Snow, Mason Lloyd and David Brenin. This is a book I wanted to listen to in one sitting. The romance books I usually read are paranormal, science fiction, or fantasy. This was a departure from those genres and opened my eyes to other types of books. I would highly recommend this book.

Great Read

Love and Homicide: Death, Betrayal and Love, Volume One was a great read by Paula-Michelle Trotter. Jake didn't expect to fall in love and have it threaten his job. Julia is suspected of murder but may also become the next victim. They didn't expect to fall in love but that's what happens. I absolutely loved reading Jake and Julia's story and fell in love with them as characters as well as a couple. I can't wait to read more in this series.
