Publisher's Summary

Kyle Mitchell has forged his own path in life. He’s happy with his job as the head of horse breeding operations at Untamed, working for his best friend, Rand. Knowing his family has never accepted his sexuality, Kyle is shocked to find out he’s expected to be at his brother’s wedding with his boyfriend...a man who doesn’t exist.

After inheriting Untamed from his parents, Rand Everette is living his dream. His quiet life is turned upside down when his best friend, Kyle, asks him to be his fake boyfriend for his brother’s wedding. Faking chemistry won’t be difficult. They already know almost everything about each other and live together. How hard could it be?

What will Rand think when he finds out Kyle told his brother he not only has a boyfriend but a Daddy Dom as well? Will they be able to find a way to pull it off or will it all blow up? With the Mitchell family involved anything is possible, but maybe what starts as a fake relationship is just what Kyle and Rand need to find their way to each other.

Untamed involves two adult men in love, as well as an age play/ABDL relationship.

Perfection

Kyle and Rand are best friends, and Kyle lives with and works for Rand. When Kyle gets a phone call from his brother telling him that he is expected to be at his upcoming wedding, Kyle ends up telling his brother he will be there, not only with his boyfriend, but with his Daddy. When Kyle asks Rand for help and pretend to be his Daddy, Rand decides that its best for them to "practice" for the six-weeks prior to the wedding. In those six-weeks, Kyle and Rand grow closer as their relationship grows more intimate. But what will happen when the wedding is over? Will they return to what they had before, or has Kyle found his Daddy forever?
This book is absolutely everything I love in a book - kink and people who accept that kink, friends to lovers trope, fake boyfriend, daddy/dom. This book has so much going on but it is done in such a way that it is melded and interconnected absolutely perfectly! The writing is so rich and vivid, giving great imagery allowing the readers to picture exactly what is going on (*shower game scene*)! The characters are well written and easy to like (well - except for his family), and the interactions between Kyle and Rand and the secondary characters are always entertaining to say the least!
Bolton Hill does such an fantastic job with Carly Marie’s books, but I think they continue to get better with each one I listen to. I loved hearing him bring Kyle & Rand (and their friends and made family) to life!
Carly Marie did such an outstanding job with this one and it is one not to miss!!

A major turn off for me

A major turn off and to be honest I as a Leatherman and Gay man I felt insulted and humiliated. At first I thought and enjoy due to the laugh I received as listening. I am sure there are groups into this both Gay and Straight but it not for me.
The narrator did a great job telling the story nothing against the author but I feel they went way to far. I look forward to reading or listening to other books but this was wrong in my taste and again insulting and humiliating!!!!!

I loved this book and the narrator was so good that I love it just as much in audio format. If MM Daddy/Boy relationships are your thing, then this is your story.

Loved it.

Kyle and Rand are best friends and work together at Rand's ranch, Untamed. When Kyle tries to avoid going to his brother's wedding, he ends up getting himself tangled up in his own lies, and Rand steps up and helps Kyle out by pretending to be both his boyfriend and his Daddy. Neither man knows what they're getting into, but as with everything else, Rand jumps in with both feet and gives it his all. I really loved Kyle learning to be little; with parents who never let him be a child, he is often confused and lost at how to just be a kid. I was pleased to see a character who was described as not having been able to really be a child when he was younger not immediately understand how to be little, His attitude towards the blocks makes me chuckle; it isn't always easy to see what you can create with random pieces. Kyle's grandma is amazing and I'd love for her to visit the ranch some day. I'd happily read more about Jace and Jonas as well.

I enjoyed Bolton Hill's narration. I think he did a great job with Rand in particular; his Daddy voice when talking to Kyle was perfect.

The story didn't work for me. The narration fine.

DNF at the end of chapter five.

I simply wasn't enjoying this at all. It would be one thing if the plot had been two men deciding to explore and learn to live the daddy/little lifestyle (because that's basically what is happening up to chapter six). However, that's not the plot. The plot is two men decide to pretend to live the daddy/little lifestyle and that 100% wasn't working for me.

It wasn't working because the author seemed to forget the pretend part. The men went out and spent hundreds of dollars on toys, arrange to tell their staff they live the lifestyle, and commence actually doing it. There was no feeling of pretend, but the author also so far hadn't brought any actual kink play into the story. So, all I felt was a 32-year-old man being seriously infantalized. And none of it felt believable. How does someone get to 32 and not know how to hold a freaking teddy bear, or notice they like soft things (even in a generalized sense)?

I read a review here on Audible by someone stating he's a gay 'leatherman' and saying he felt insulted by the book. That's pretty close to how I felt. I felt like Marie was setting the whole ridiculous plot up to allow daddy/little kink cure the ongoing trauma the little has from being raised in a horrible, wealthy conservative family who never allowed him a childhood. No thank you.

Some might say that if I kept listening until the relationship actually became real I might like the book in the end. But I can tell I won't. I'm simply not enjoying the tone. I'm saving myself the time and the book the scathing review I would no doubt be forced to write.

The narrator was doing a fine job, however. It was 100% the story that caused me to not finish this one.

Cowboy Daddy

This was a pretty good story about two best friends discovering that being in love and a daddy/little relationship was just what they both needed. The story was a little disappointing for me, I found the chemistry between the two MC's lacking. I just didn't connect with them on an emotional level like I prefer. The Daddy/Little dynamic was pretty good and I enjoyed that. I do love Carly's books and will continue to read them but this was just only pretty good for me. I've listened to this narrator once before and wasn't impressed so I hoped giving him a second chance he may have gotten better. He was marginally better this time around but not great, he really needs to put more emotion in the voices and a much better distinguishing tone with the characters. Overall it was pretty good and I would recommend taking a listen to judge for yourself. [Just a side note that these are my own personal opinions and you may certainly feel differently]
I was given this audio in exchange for an honest review.

Great story

Fake relationship and ABDL are two of my favourite tropes so I was looking forward to seeing where this story went..
Kyle and Rand are best friends after working together for 10 years.
Kyle wants to shock his family, his brother especially at his brother wedding he's being forced to attend. He decide a daddy/boy relationship is just the way to do it.
It was an interesting way to get two pretty vanilla men to change their ways. They explore the kink together in order to make it believable to Kyle's family.
I enjoyed this audio from beginning to end. The narrator did a good job of bringing these men to life.

Another winner for Carly Marie and Bolton Hill....

Untamed is the second book that I have read by Carly Marie, and she is proving to be an amazing author. When I started reading about the age play/Daddy Dom/Little lifestyle, I must admit I was a bit confused by why such behavior would be attractive or sexually stimulating. However, that confusion did not last past the first chapter. Marie has a way of explaining the thought process and personality behind why people choose these alternative lifestyles that just makes everything so much clearer. Although this book was lighter than my first book, Undisclosed Desires, it was equally touching and thought provoking. The entire relationship develops between Kyle, our little, and Rand, our Daddy, as a bit of a lark to shock Kyle ultra-conservative and un-accepting parents and brother at the brother's upcoming wedding. However, Rand and Kyle quickly realize this dynamic is exactly what they have been missing in their lives, and that they fit together perfectly. The book is plenty steamy and sexy, but it is more the emotional connection that develops between these longtime friends that makes Untamed so special. I am excited to see how Carly Marie tops her first two books because she set the bar pretty darn high.

Bolton Hill is as amazing as ever with his narration of Kyle and Rand. The story is told in alternating points of view, and Hill changes his tone just subtly enough to feel Kyle's little side and Rand's dominant side coming out as they slide into this new dynamic. Hill could perform any genre and shine as a narrator, but his deep, sexy voice is perfect for the romance genre. I highly recommend anything that he narrates, and I look forward to my (hopefully soon) next listen to his voice.

I received a copy of this audiobook at my request in exchange for this honest review.

as good as the ebook

The story is always 4 or 5 stars, because if I wouldn't like the story as ebook, I wouldn't listen to the audiobook.

The performance from the narrator is also very important for me. I can't listen to a lot, because my English as a non-native-speaker isn't so perfect to follow a whole story over hours, when the narrator speaks too fast or too sloppy. Normally I have to SEE the person, who is talking to me in English. It took me a little bit, to come into the narrator, but at the end, it worked. I only have to take a few breaks between. I'm just not yet finish with the book, but I listen enough to give a review.

Love me some cowboys!

What a fun story. Slightly predictable but most romances are. Although the grandmother was an awesome surprise!
I loved how Rand just accepted his role and the fact that Kyle got in over his head.
I think the blank acceptance from the hands was a bit much, there was one that was uncomfortable and I think it would have felt more real if he or someone quit but oh well.

The narrator was great. Only a slight change in voices but it was enough!

OMG! Sweet, sexy, funny with fabulous narration! I loved it!!

The perfect cheeky and funny listen for my Christmas LOL. What starts as a humorous “threat” to make his family uncomfortable turns into a sweet and sincere friends-to-lovers tale with classic Carly kink thrown in!

I just loved Rand and Kyle! I found the premise of this story unique and how these two come together is full of humor, fun, and more steam than you could want. I loved the progression from friends play-acting, to exploring kink, to find what they didn’t realize they were missing. All the pieces fall perfectly into place and Carly elevates the story with the perfect mix of play and love. I’ve loved everything Carly (& Bolton) has created and can’t wait for more! It’s just so good!!

Bolton does a fabulous job narrating this one. The ups, the down, the confusion, and the steam, I felt it all from Bolton’s narration. I loved it! Bolton and Carly are a dream team!!

Thanks for reading!

The unexpected Daddy and his grateful boy

What a delicious read, this story has given me way too much pleasure .
I really loved the way the story developed, with two strong cowboys that have feelings for each other but are too reluctant to rock the boat, so stay silent.
Rand is the owner of Untamed Ranch and Kyle is his right hand man, both men have worked together for many years in harmony, until one day Kyle has to ask Rand for help on a teeny tiny problem. You see, Kyle is in need of a pretend boyfriend, in fact in need of a Daddy to attend his brothers wedding with him. Being the amazing man that he is Rand accepts the challenge.
What is so special about this book is the almost step by step , slow and steady development of the Daddy/boy relationship. Rand is so in tune with his boy's needs that he becomes an excellent Daddy, Kyle on the other hand basks in the love and attention he receives constantly. The chemistry between them is explosive and when both men finally give in to their desires the intimate scenes are beautiful.
What starts out as a game turns into a complete lifestyle change for these two men.
There is so much love and devotion and understanding between them that it makes my heart warm.

This was such a sweet book

This was such a sweet book. Kyle and his family don't get on so when he is informed that he must attend his brother's wedding he makes up a fake boyfriend, when that isn't enough he claims that said boyfriend is actually his Daddy Dom. Even that doesn't deter his brother so his only choice is to ask his best friend of nearly a decade to be his fake Daddy. The men have always been attracted to each other but afraid to risk their friendship. Neither of the men have a clue exactly what the Daddy/little relationship will entail and as they practice and explore these roles it turns out that this dynamic might just be perfect for them.

Sweet Daddy/boy

I absolutely loved this story but that's no surprise because Carly Marie is one of my absolute favorite authors.
Poor Kyle has never been accepted by his family so when he's informed that he had better show up to his brother's wedding with his boyfriend, who doesn't exist because he made him up to make his brother uncomfortable, he figures why not go all in and make him a Daddy as well?!
Now he's floundering for a way to pull this off so of course he begs his best friend, roommate and boss Rand to help him out.
It doesn't hurt that Kyle and Rand have also basically been in a relationship without either of them acknowledging it.
What was so sweet and surprising to them both was how quickly and easily they both slipped into their roles and enjoyed them, how right this felt to them.
This crazy situation was the perfect impetus to help them realize exactly what they'd been so oblivious to, how perfect they were for one another.
Bolton Hill's narration as usual was spot on and got me perfectly into that good old country boy mindset.

Fake daddy/little sweet story

Review from amazon
The story starts when Rand owner of a horse breading company employs Kyle fast forward 8 years and they are best friends. One comment to his brother to get out of going to his wedding leaves Kyle needing a huge favour of Rand. What sparks is a sweet story between two people who clearly have a good close friendship. I loved both MC’s and the ranch hands were hilarious. Kyles family not so much although I want Kyle’s nan to adopt me!!!

This book made me smile, laugh out loud and get seriously annoyed. It is daddy/boy but doesn’t have any diapers. Going in my reread pile

Audible review
This was a hard one to review as I think I loved the story more listening to it then reading it but found it frustrating at times as the voices were really similar, and probably would have found it hard to follow had I not already re read the book a number of times. However having said that Bolton hill is becoming a one click narrator.

Wonderful book to listen to...... again and again.

I will start by saying that I read the ebook this month, after getting the novella. This book is completely different to what I usually listen to, but for some reason the daddy/boy books are really hitting the spot at the moment, and this book was no exception, and it is definitely one I will both read and listen to again and again.

Now Bolton Hill is also a new to me narrator, and he did a brilliant job on this audio. I just loved the different voices he did for Rand and Kyle. I will certainly be looking for more books narrated by him, and expanding my audio collection.

As I am writing this review, I am trying to think of why this book appealed to me so much, but I really cannot pinpoint one particular reason. What I did like though, was that it wasn't a book where they were having sex all the time. Don't get me wrong, I love a hot book like many others, but sometimes I want a book that is more about the emotions and feelings, and this book was that.

To me personally - this was a book written with Kyle learning what he actually wanted from Rand (namely a daddy), but also with Rand learning to be a daddy, and he didn't know how much he had wanted this sort of relationship, actually neither of them knew really. It was like being taken on the journey with them both, and it has given me even more understanding of the daddy/boy relationship, and how sometimes everyday life itself can be stressful for some people, and having a daddy can take all this stress away, and I would think it could work the other way too, that when someone is being a daddy to their boy, then their head space also changes.

I also loved being introduced to Jonas and Jace, and I am hoping that their story is also one to be told. I am wondering about the background of Jonas especially as he likes to look pretty.

This Story Makes Me So Happy!

like every Carly Marie book an audio (and I've read them all!) I finished this story with such a happy smile on my face. Carly Marie has an absolute talent of creating characters I adore, and stories that sometimes teeter right on the edge of over the top, but only in the best of ways! Untamed is definitely one of those stories, and it left me giggling at the antics that Rand and Kyle get get up to. The premise of the whole story is unique - trying to get out of his brother's wedding, Kyle makes up a crazy lie and then is forced to give up his pride, or follow through. Never mind following through involves talking your best friend and boss into pretending to be your daddy - stuffed bears, bottles and books included! This story made me aww and giggle, often at the same time. I adored following their journey as they realised their clever ruise might not be such a fictional story at all. Bolton Hill did a great job with the narration. I really felt it fit the characterisation well - Rand as gentle but firm. Deep and serious, but with a soft undertone, especially when comforting his boy. Kyle had lots of sass, and at times that hint of vulnerability. Even though I had already read the book, I felt the narration helped draw me even deeper into their relationship. Loved it!!

A wonderful story from a new to me author

I lived every minute of this book. It grabbed me immediately because I was so taken in by the narrator. I've not listened to him before but I'll ask him out now.
The story goes in an interesting direction very quickly, and mixture of ranchers and Daddy/little was a surprise.
The characters are well drawn and the plot is gentle, without any heavy angst.
It's a very loving book, with plenty of heat too.
A great introduction to Carly Marie.
