Publisher's summary

Annie Spelman discovers her adoptive parents kept her adoption a secret for a reason, and someone will stop at nothing short of murder to keep that secret.

Since Ian Wallace was helping his best friend, Michael, keep an eye on his sister when they were children, he can't forgive himself for letting his best friend's sister get kidnapped. He's dedicated his life to finding Janie Lohman and other missing children like her. Finding her, and the truth, may kill them both.

Realistic

This was a well thought out story and had me on the edge of my seat. Each new development that happened along the investigation kept you wondering what would happen next. Wonderful characters and a love story happening. This is a story that will stay with you. I received a complimentary audio and voluntarily reviewing.

My Heart was in My Throat

I literally could not stop listening to this book and feeling emotionally tied to the main character, Annie. Everyone who is adopted (myself included) wants to know about their "other family" and what happened.....this is human nature, but when Annie tries to find out this answer, darkness begins to loom around Annie and her family. Annie ends up hiring Ian, a private investigator to help her achieve this goal, only to have her adopted father be killed in an auto accident, and her uncle turn his back on her. In fact, her adopted parents did not tell her she was adopted, she found out through a cousin, which is what stirred up her desires to try to find her real family. Ian's grandmother reminds me of my grandma-straight to the point, and I immediately feel in love with her feisty self.

The narration was wonderfully done where each character was easy to define.

A story about adoption, and finding your family when you’re just not sure what is right. This book was great and the twist at the end may surprise some, but I was able to figure it out not even half way through. That being said, I still enjoyed hearing it come to play in the end. The narration was spot on as well. Will definitely be looking into more from this narrator.

Light mystery

This was an easy listen, a bit of a mystery although a little far fetched is my personal opinion. Worth the listen though. This audiobook was provided by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of AudiobookBlast dot com.

Entertaining quick mystery...

Little Orphan Annie by Susette Williams was an entertaining quick mystery, though it was a tad bit predictable. Even though it was predictable, it was still worth listening to. There is a little mention of faith and God in this book, though it is not overwhelming if novels that touch on faith aren't your thing.

This is the story of Alice looking for her birth family and the men that want to keep her from finding out the truth. She hires Ian, a PI, that typically specializes in finding children to help her. Meanwhile, Ian also finds himself in the middle of another, current serial child abduction case that has been going on for years. This was an easy, fun listen and was perfect for driving around running errands over the weekend!

Allyson Voller did a great job narrating this quick listen. She voiced everyone from Grannie to Annie to Ian well and was easy to understand. I've listened to her performances in the past and I know that I'll enjoy the narration when Ms. Voller has done it. I was voluntarily provided this free review copy audiobook by the author, narrator, or publisher for an honest review.
