What a read!

As usual, Gena Showalter gives us another brilliantly developed world with characters you become emotionally invested in. I admit to being quite annoyed at Gena mid-book but she redeems herself towards the end with the twists and turns. Looking forward to the subsequent books!

Fantastic Story

The story moves along at a nice pace. Gena has built strong friendships and even a little love is thrown into the mix. Good verses evil. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What madness!

I cannot wait for the next book. What a crazy bunch of twists and turns. This book had my heart feeling confused and lost. Roller coaster of love and sadness.

Perfect for AudioBook

Male voice is irrating. liked his character in book but audiobook really changed his tone. He seems whiney not like Character. Bad fit for this character.
The first romance build was smooth, second rance is awkward.

Wrong Narrator Voice

The narrator’s voice didn’t fit this book at all. It made it impossible to get into the story. It was WAY too formal for the MFL it was intended for - and when she spoke on behalf of the MML, it felt like she was shouting every word. I had to stop after just a short time. I may go back and try to read the book on my kindle later on.

I like the plot of the book

listen the series sounds interesting about you know the different things that are within the book as character wise however, I am not a fan of the voice for the prince. so it comes across kind of like a weird creepy like 40 uncle instead of them being around the same age and them actually wanting each other the voice gives a weird huge age Gap but the series is great the females characters voice is fine it's just like when y'all did Shiloh's voice it sounded his age . and usually I enjoy listening to the voice actors but this one it just it just felt off

Interesting

This was such an interesting story that took me in from the beginning. The voices were great to listen to and to follow along to.

Soal or Cured?

The overall plot of this book intrigued me—two worlds divided by a madness that consumes their people. You're either Mad and follow Soal, or you're Cured. It's a fascinating concept with a lot of potential.

However, I found the world-building to be lacking, which made it difficult to fully immerse myself in the story.

I also struggled a bit with the audiobook format. It is a single narrator, and while they did a decent job overall, the voice used for the main male character didn’t vary much in tone. This made it hard to pick up on emotional cues or distinguish his character’s personality.

Unfortunately, the ending didn’t quite compel me to continue with the series. While the premise had promise, the execution didn’t fully land for me.

Easy to understand fantasy

I read YA fantasy because I can actually understand it. Based on other fantasy books, this is a simple one. I enjoyed it. The audible performance was fantastic.

Worst book Gena has ever written

I disliked the characters, the world building, plot. There was nothing I kiked. Love everything Genas ever written except this. Disappointing she’s in my top five of favorite authors😫
