Publisher's summary

After a summer spent trying to prevent a catastrophic war among the Greek gods, Percy Jackson finds his seventh-grade school year unnervingly quiet. His biggest problem is dealing with his new friend, Tyson, a six-foot-three, mentally challenged homeless kid who follows Percy everywhere, making it hard for Percy to have any "normal" friends.

Critic reviews

"Adventure follows chaotic adventure at a rapid pace, and readers with even a passing acquaintance with the Odyssey will enjoy this fresh use of familiar stories." (School Library Journal)

Voice Acting Problem

Overall I think the performance was good. But every time Luke spoke I was ripped out of the scene. Terrible. The other characters were alright. And the story was phenomenal.

Good book, but bad narrator

This book is great and all, but we should have a better narrator. The narrator doesn’t do very good at narrating. He makes the characters sound weird.
If we had a different narrator, I would very much like it. I have only read the first and second book, but both have this bad narrator. I like Percy Jackson.
If anyone likes Mythology, I recommend Rick Riordan. All his books are great. Percy Jackson, Magnus Chase. Anything. But maybe stick to reading the actual book.

Whole family loved it.

We listened to this with our 8 and 5 year olds. It was a bit complex for the 5 year old but she still enjoyed it. To tell you the truth, my husband and I were pretty obsessed with the story too. Can't wait to hear the next one. Downloading it now.

Wonderful story, poor performance

What did you love best about The Sea of Monsters?

The story was very interesting. The action and the flow of the story are great.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Sea of Monsters?

My family and I read the first book together and then listened to the rest. Even my husband loves them.

How could the performance have been better?

The performance was awful. The narrator read it they way I would imagine a ditzy teenage girl talking and his voice were horribly annoying!

It's great there are some mess ups😕 but otherwise just great

There are two kinds of mess ups😒 book reader mess ups like how he pronounces things and voices for different character confusion and stuff like that And author mess ups like if he got the story wrong and confused little details in other things like that but besides all that I personally thing the story is great and all of this review goes for every book in the first series but it's creative and any time I try to write a little story it's terrible compared to this and every other book I can think of but I've listened to it sooooooooo many times that it's sorta kinda getting old but for someone who's never herd this or any others in this series I'd reccomend It
I don't think I spelled that right but
it it's pretty good so that's all I have to say for now but it's a good story
