So beautiful
What did you love best about The Gardening Princess?
This was just so beautifully written. Breathtaking is probably the best description. You can practically see the whole story jump to life right in front of you. My two year old girl and six year old boy were both completely glued to the stereo. (Even my eleven year old niece was a fan!)
What did you like best about this story?
I loved that the princess was portrayed as a real person, and that it glorified the parts of her character that were royal instead of just the typical "princessy" stuff. Another great result is that my son loved it equally well, since it wasn't too girly for him to enjoy.
What does A.D. Hasselbring bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The rhythm of the words drove the story forward - it added excitement and a kind of magical feeling (corny, I know) that just wouldn't be there if I were reading. Plus, honestly, I'm often tired when we're reading, and I don't know if I would have given it as much genuine devotion to telling the story as he does! It was nice that we could all enjoy it together.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Absolutely nothing! I(I'll take this over the other "squeaky" voices on our other princess stories any day!!!)
