Publisher's Summary

New York Times bestselling author Melody Anne's sizzling novel of ex-lovers locked again in a game of hearts.

There was a time when surgeon Kian Forbes would have surrendered every cent of his vast family fortune if it could make Roxie Gilbert happy. That was before she skipped town, broke his heart, and sent him spinning through a string of forgettable one-night stands. He never even knew he'd fathered a child - with Roxie's sister, no less. But in the wake of tragedy, little Lily needs a home. And Kian wants his daughter. But Roxie's not giving in or giving up without a fight.

Fearful of her intense feelings for Kian, Roxie ran. Now that her sister's death has brought her home, she intends to take custody of her niece and avoid Kian - easier said than done on both counts. With their wealth and power, the Forbes men are accustomed to winning. And as she and Kian are forced to spend time together for Lily's sake, saying no to everything he wants proves impossible...even though it means risking both their hearts all over again.

bad narrator

I wish the narrator changed her voice when she's reading. The same voice man or woman. She needs to learn from Andi Arndt.

Just no

Roxy is one of the most annoying characters ever.

The narrator pronounced Kian every way under the sun. Is it Kian that rhymes with Ian or Kian that sounds like Kion?? Or is it a Pepper??

This book annoyed me a lot.

Honestly?

This Roxy character is unbelievable. After Pamela (Roxy's sister) dies the best part of the book ends, oh and Pamela' s letter was good. I have read other books by M. Ann and enjoyed them but this one is a no read, Sorry.

so hard to finish

the narrator ruined this book. Kristin Watson heintz would drag out the oddest words! unfortunately she seems to have narrated the next book in the series too. I was going to try and listen to it but no. Can't listen to her again.

Omg Roxie !

I love Melody Anne book she's one of my favorite authors the story line was amazing as always but Roxie was so annoying I came very close to not finishing this book because of this character the ridiculous choices she made ....I can't go into detail because I would be giving spoilers I hate spoilers...my goodness I felt like pulling my hair out at times

One of the worst heroines ever

The writing is good, except the inner dialogues are excessively overdone. My main complaint was the heroine was completely pathetic. She was lame, selfish and just plain stupid. It’s hard to like a story when you don’t respect or like the heroine.

I can't!!

why in the world would the aunt keep that little girl in the house where she and her mother was attacked. also why would any dad agree to it. The rediculousness of the characters are unrealistic. He is a billionaire and apparently the mom that died was a struggling to provide for her family so the neighborhood couldnt have been the best. I just don't understand. I honestly couldn't get passed any of it.

No depth

I couldn't visualize the characters, Roxi got on my nerves because she ran from a man who loved her because she thought she would lose herself. This was a very hard read, the storyline didn't flow and therefore no believable.

Good story different

Even thought I've read reviews not so nicely put, I gave this audiobook a shot. It was different but I did enjoy it. I think is better to say it was not your cup of tea instead of leaving negative reviews without bothering to finish the story.

Horrible Narrator and Story

Rocky, the female lead, is selfish from beginning to end for no reason. Lily her niece is never her first thought only an afterthought. Kian tries and I don’t see why.

The narrator uses the same voice whether male or female. Sometimes that can work but it doesn’t this time. Listening to this made me decide not to get the rest of the series. Thank goodness it was free.

It was ok

while I enjoyed the story, it was a bit drawn out in places and found myself not listening. very predictable, I have quite a few books by Melody Anne and enjoyed other titles more. Narration was good, heard better heard worse. Much prefer a male and female narrator, makes the story so much better.
