Publisher's summary

From New York Times bestselling author Ruth Cardello comes another hot Corisi romance about a bet, a love story, and the secrets that ruin relationships.

When billionaire and tech start-up capitalist Gian Romano strikes a bet with his niece Judy - the daughter of Dominic Corisi - to find even more of the Corisi family, his search leads him to the Boston area. But when he pops into a store, the woman who runs it becomes an instant distraction from his mission. Teagan is beautiful, strong, and too smart not to see through him.

What started as a friendly family bet quickly becomes complicated when sparks fly between Gian and Teagan. Nothing is as simple as it appears, and together they discover the past still has the power to hurt the ones they both love. Teagan won’t settle for less than the truth from Gian, but when it comes to her own secret aspirations, she holds back. If they learn to trust each other, they just might discover that some secrets are better when shared.

They’ll have to trust each other completely, or else their love, along with Gian’s lead on Judy, will be doomed.

Good Story

4 Stars for me!

My rating range throughout the story... 3.5 - 4.25

Main Character Ratings... H = 8 - h = 6

Scenes with heat.. Multiple throughout the story

Heat Rating... 7/10
Clean - 1 or 2
Descriptive Sex - 5 or above
Beyond Descriptive Sex - 8 or above

The back story... H finds out his horrible father had two additional children (now adults) and seeks them out. The h meets him and falls in lust. She does not trust him due to his father.

The Romance... Quickly builds - lots of push from the H and pull from the H.

The drama explosion... Not much of one.

Final Notes... Good story but it took me about 2/3rds of the story to warm up to her. I also wish the story had taken place over a few months to give the romance more credibility.

HEA or HFN? HEA

Confused most of the book.

I was confused most of the book because it kept referring to things i knew nothing about. Is this a sequel to another set of books? It said book 1 but it was like coming into a story 3/4 of the way thru and having no background context on who characters were and why
About halfway thru I started to get a clear picture but totally lost before.
There were alot of intimate scenes and important dialog that i couldnt just skip them without getting lost. Sorry not a fan.

This is Why I Read Romance

This book is pure satisfaction. It's well written, the pace is just right, and the characters... ahh, the characters make this story hum.

The Corisi family has a shady past and a very convoluted family tree. But the current head of the family is working to change the reputation his family rightly earned, and find any additional family members who may not be known to him. He's already had some success on that front when he discovered his half-brother Gian.

Now Gian finds himself in an unusual situation when he accepts a bet to locate any other lost Corisi siblings. Gian is smart, ambitious, and totally into his two families (the biological and the adopted ones). He believes he's discovered another relative named Riley. But in his attempt to locate her, he is bowled over by Riley's employer, Teagan. Are you lost yet? Well buckle up, because things are just beginning to complicated.

Teagan and Gian have that beautiful instant connection: that spark that speaks of love at first sight. But Teagan doesn't trust easily, and Gian started out on the wrong foot. As Gian's father tells him, "lust is instant, but trust has to be earned." Thanks to their first meeting, Gian's got a long row to hoe. But he's up for the challenge.

These characters are simply wonderful. All of them. Teagan is super intelligent, dedicated, loyal, and hot tempered. Gian is her equal in intelligence, understands how to woo a woman, possesses a rapier wit, and is drawn to that fire Teagan throws. He knows she's the one for him. She knows no such thing.

The remaining cast of personalities is diverse, yet delightful. The Corisi family is iron-willed and remarkable. The Romano family is full of joy, love, and humor. They all work together to make this book a beautiful story of learning to let go, to trust, and to be open to love. The audiobook is deftly narrated; Jeremy York's voice is smooth and rich like a great caramel. The combination of superb narration and wonderful writing makes this a must read.

He said always

Continuing look into the Corisi family dynamics with a grown up Judy and new relatives to discover.

Judy is a real kick, a self assured 20 year old who thinks she knows everything and actually knows nothing. She's about to meet someone smarter who doesn't care that her father is Dominic Corisi when she breaks into Teegan's storefront and computer lab.

Gian is the next Corisi to invade Teegan's life and soon the sparks start to fly.

The book is good, with a great plot and characters. The author has found a way to keep all the continuing characters interesting while adding in significant life partners and adding family members to center the next books on. She keeps all the plots fresh, which must be hard with such a big family. The narrators were really good, I enjoyed listening to them when I wasn't reading.

What a cute fun story!

This is on KU Audio

Gian Romano makes a bet with his niece that he can find more family for the Corisi family. When he finds out that Riley one of the twins works he goes to the print shop she works at and then he meets Teagan. Teagan has a few secrets of her own with what she does for work. When she finds out what Gian really is there for she has to figure out if her friendship with Riley worth keeping this secret from her or not. When she finds out why Riley's mom has kept a secret from Kal and Riley about who their Bio Dad is it puts Teagan in a tough spot. What happens when friendship is more important? What happens when you finally fall in love? What happens when you have to tell your secret?

I adored this story. I loved the way Gian and Teagan are quirky and they just fit one another so well. I absolutely adored this audio the narrators did great! The family dynamic was amazing! I really loved everyone and how everyone cared about everyone. I really fell for the nerd of Gian and what his passion was.

Fun and easy read

This was a great story! It’s a spin off series but can be read as a standalone (takes place years afterward and anything needed is gone over) without any issues. I loved getting Gina’s story and getting to know this new batch of Corisis and see again settling into himself. This story was easy to get into and an easy read as I stayed involved and connected the entire time. I loved the way that again connected and was himself with Teagan and accepted her for herself as well. He went at her pace and didn’t push her too far. I really enjoyed this one and am excited for the next one as well.
Narrators did a great job bringing the story to life and easy to listen to.

Very long, but very sweet

This is a great story. The characters were developed up OK however, the story was longer than it needed to be in lots of holes in the backstory so hopefully there are other books that complement this book that fill in some of the questions.
