The ketogenic diet is a diet based on a process called ketosis. It is a specific state of the body, which is characterized by an elevated level of ketones in the blood which occurs due to the conversion of fats into fatty acid and ketones. This occurs when the body gets only very small amounts of carbohydrates over a certain period of time.

When you start with this type of diet, your body goes through several changes. After 24 to 48 hours since the beginning of this diet, the body starts to use ketones in order to use the energy stored in fat cells more efficiently. In other words, a primary source of energy becomes fat, instead of carbohydrates.

Because of that, during ketosis it is not a problem to eat food with bigger amount of fact, than would otherwise seem reasonable

This way the body is rapidly losing weight, specifically in fat. In addition, the loss of muscle tissue is minimal since the vast majority of food consumed during ketosis also contains relatively large amounts of proteins that are good for your muscles.

Not what I expected

What did you like best about Keto Diet for Beginners? What did you like least?

I did not know anything about 7keto dhea and I found a lot of information about this.

Would you recommend Keto Diet for Beginners to your friends? Why or why not?

Nope, I did not find the information useful. It seemed to focus on supplements and was not quite sure about how to start the Keto Diet. Great information but no practical way of implementing it. This is for beginners but as someone who could stand to lose some weight the only thing I know about is 7keto dhea, this makes me confused on what the point of the book was. I really wanted to like the book

Disappointed several chapters were Infomercial

Would you try another book from David D. Kings and/or Harry Roger Williams, III?

I appreciated the history of Keto and the benefits and warnings of this way of eating. However, I didn't care for the informercial of buying Keto 7 supplement in chapters 6 and 9. It would have been better to keep to informing beginners and offering us facts about supplements (like you did in chapter 5?) than trying to sell us on Keto 7

What about Harry Roger Williams, III’s performance did you like?

I thought Mr. Williams gave a very nice performance. He kept the information moving and interesting. Thanks.

Have you ever wanted to know what the Keto diet is all about? Then this is a good introduction. I myself was fairly familiar with the concept, but I learned a lot more after listening to this title. For example: I found that I am, most likely, not a good candidate for this diet without some more research on my part. :-( I have low blood sugar (Glucose), not associated with diabetes, and this would be a hard diet to maintain without modifications. Mine is a special case, and for the average individual, this would not be a problem.


There is a lot of information packed into this short read and I found having the ebook to refer to and make notes in a plus. It's worth a listen if you are wanting to know about the Keto diet and if it might be a good fit for you. This diet is not going to be right for everyone. Let's face it, if that were the case, the diet industry would be very small indeed. It does sound like a diet I would be interested in if I can make it work with my odd body chemistry!

This is my 1st read/listen by David D. Kings. The information he presented in this title was informative. I appreciated the lack of fluff. It gave me an honest view of what the whole Keto thing is all about.

I couldn't get through 15 minutes...

The narration is what kills this book. It is so robotic I couldn't pay attention. The book may have great info, but I can't get through it to find out.

Great introduction to the ketogenic diet

This is not the typical book I usually review, but I was interested in this one since I have been following a paleo diet for more than three years. A paleo diet is essentially low carb, but I know people following a ketogenic diet with great success.

First of all, the book focuses a bit more on losing weight than I expected, since what I wanted to know more about was the health benefits from this kind of diet. Nevertheless I think it is a good introduction, even though I think some of the material would be more friendly in print.

It is a quick listen, enough to learn the basics, the pros and cons of this diet, but before venturing on this new way of eating I would try to go deeper and check with a specialist.

Harry Roger Williams III delivered a compelling narration, keeping my attention at all times and making this an interesting listen.

Short but good read! Try this diet yourself!

I really enjoyed 'How to eat successfully at restaurants' section. Additionally the guide provides helpful tips on what to include or not in the Keto diet.

Wonderful book

This book is amazing! Some very good recipes and a plethera of information on the Keto diet. A great book that thoroughly explain keto diet. I've tried a few recipes already and each try was great and delicious. It is a very good book and it explains some subjects like alcohol that other books leave out. I really like the fact that the book is almost all recipes of real food and not 50% smoothies like many other books. After getting answers to all my questions, I feel very comfortable to start my diet. Highly recommended.
