Publisher's Summary

He was broken by the war. Her secret could destroy her family.

Ex-marine sniper Jared River left the war, but the war never really left him. He's a broken wolf who's good for only one thing now - killing men. And he's peering down his scope at Senator Krepky, the antishifter politician about to ruin the lives of all the shifters Jared loves.

Grace Krepky is the daughter of the senator, a good girl with a passion for her father's politics and who's earned her way into being his campaign manager. Only problem? She's secretly a shifter...and the clock is ticking until her own father inadvertently forces that secret into the open, ruining both their lives.

Jared's all set to pull the trigger when he sees something shocking through the senator's glass walls: His daughter is a wolf. Jared puts his gun aside to go after the fleeing girl, but he already knows this can end in only one of two ways - either he'll convince her to reveal herself to the senator and stop his antishifter legislation, or Jared will have to assassinate her father.

If only she wasn't making him come alive again....

Jared is a complete novel with HEA, the third in the River Pack Wolves trilogy (all stand-alone stories but best enjoyed if you listen to them in order!).

Contains scorching-hot shifters, alpha military heroes, and dark family secrets. Only listeners over 18 should dive into the deliciously hot world of the River brothers.

After the River brothers, check out the Wilding Pack Wolves series!

Great series. 1 great, 1 horrible narrator.

Brian, the male narrator... I cringed every time he read. Sounded like one of my brothers picking fun of a chick flick. The female narrator, Morais, was great. That said, I did enjoy they series, and was sappy, happy Jared found his hea.

Great story, horrible narrator.

I really really really can’t stand the male narrator’s voice. It sounds like he is trying to sound like what he thinks a male in a romance novel sounds like… There is no other way to describe it. He sounds all breathy and cheesy and fake… it’s cringe worthy. Like just talk normal… it’s just weird… And I can’t get past it. I keep turning it off taking a break and then going back to it… I’ve had to skip over the love scenes because they are just weird (unless it’s the female narrator… she does an awesome job). I have to force myself to finish it since I have listened to the other two books in the series... and I want to know how it ends... but it's hard to get past it... I'm considering just buying the book and reading it.

River Pack Wolves Book Three

River Pack Wolves Book Three

Grace Krepky is surprised to find another wolf in the woods behind her home and terrified that he will reveal her secret. As the daughter and campaign manager of an anti-shifter politician, the fact that she is a shifter could be disastrous. Jared has no intention of outing the beautiful white wolf. In fact, she kept him from killing her father. Now, Jared must pose as a bodyguard for Grace to insure that her father's anti-shifter policies never see the light of day. When an old enemy shows up in Grace's father's office, though, Jared cannot contain himself. His wolf comes out and Grace's life is placed in imminent danger.

Audio Review:
Brian Hatch and Morais Almeida could be great narrators for a different genre. Unfortunately, Brian's narration is a bit overdramatic with a lot of pauses between words. Overall, the narration was not bad, just a little too over-the-top.

If you're looking for a political thriller with some paranormal themes, this is the book for you!

Good Story

The last book was good except for the female narrator. I almost stopped listening and gave up on the series. I'm glad I didn't. This book is worth every minute.

A grand, emotional performance!

Both of the performers have truly performed this book like they are onstage! Emotions that match their words and talented voice changes for different characters brings the gripping plot to life. A different twist in shifter themes that adds political activism and coming out.

Series Review

This entire series has been a really exciting adventure! These three authors and narrators did not make any of the stories boring. There were no confusing of facts across the three story lines, nor with where each story segmented with each other. Totally refreshing! I loved where the end of these stories came together as also a continuing. Anticipating the next series!!

From the darkness to Light

Jared was so freaking loveable and sweet. He fought a tough internal battle that some snipers would feel about killing. TBH I dont think that his 'First Mate' was honestly his mate. Dont wanna say more but give it a listen and see what I'm saying. Any PNR fan will catch on when he describes what happened between him and his 'First mate'. IJS

worth the listen

Decent story but the male narrator made me cringe

I started and finished this entire series within 4 days. I enjoyed this story and liked how the author “fixed” this brother. There were moments where I feel like Jared was a bit too “woe is me” but I was able to overlook those moments because I really enjoyed his gentle giant nature. The steamy moment about halfway through the story was also very nice. I enjoyed not having to wait until the end of the book for something to happen.
But, honestly, this was the hardest of the three to get through. I think I would have preferred it much more if I had just read it instead of listening to it. The female narrator was very nice. I actually enjoyed her more than the other two in the series. The male narrator of this book was so over the top that I cringed in places, physical cringes, scrunching my face up in pain. He was way too breathy in places where it didn’t seem warranted and dramatic for EVERYTHING. I struggled badly trying to force myself to sit through the entire book listening to him with it. It was just too much over...acting? I am curious to see what he sounds like reading another genre because his normal talking voice sounds very nice. Maybe romance narration just isn’t for him.

Good story worst male narrative EVER

I really didn’t feel comfortable listening to the male narrative, specially when he tries to express the feelings of the character through his voice. Like seriously PLEASE don’t stain our imagination of the character! It’s disturbing!!

The male narrator should NOT do romance.

I love these books but I had a problem listening to the male narrator, Brian. He was so awfully dramatic especially during the narration. For me to finish the book I had to fast forward through the romantic scenes he narrated.

Narrators make or break a book. I would think the author would listen to there work once recorded. I really don’t think Ms Woods would appreciate how this book was red.

Wow!

Would you listen to Jared again? Why?

Yes because I loved the story, and especially the performance by Brian he puts so much feeling into it

What other book might you compare Jared to, and why?

Jaxson and Jace in the same series RIver Wolves they are all such strong damaged characters who just want what is best for their family and pack.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, most definiately

Any additional comments?

I have really enjoyed all three books in this series, Alisa is a really talented author.

The least of my favourites

Jared has been portrayed a almost irrevocably broken but the lack of depth, unlike the previous 2, is harder to accept. The male narrators voice didn't really mesh with previous descriptions of Jared. good story line with an open end but weaker than the 1st 2
