Publisher's summary
Read by the author.
The point where you feel like your life is unraveling can actually be a place of unimaginable growth—an awakening—if you're willing to ask yourself a few simple questions.
In an age where everyone else's successes are flaunted in front of you on social media, it can be a struggle to feel true happiness and contentment exactly where you are. Throw in difficult circumstances—loss, heartbreak, change, midlife—and it's easy to understand why you feel lonely, lost, unsure of yourself, stuck, and, if you're honest with yourself, flat-out unhappy.
Is Everyone Happier Than Me? provides practical and relatable answers to the questions you've probably already been asking about your life, and poses a few more, to help you figure out what's standing in the way of your happiness, peace, and connection. Author, podcaster, and midlife mom Sarah Bragg is a trustworthy comrade for the journey as she shares the valuable lessons she's learned in her own hard seasons to help you:
- Identify the unhealthy habits you do when you feel unhappy and how to overcome them
- Discover simple ways to find peace even in the murky middle of hard seasons
- Find new ways to connect with others and yourself
- Embrace exactly where you are even as you try to move forward
It's time to let go of the ideal of a perfect life and allow yourself to be a work in progress. And there's no better time to find happiness than right here in the middle.

Story
Turning the other cheek does not mean standing by while the enemies of God dismantle Christian civilization and brainwash our children. Decrying the cowardice that masquerades as meekness, Eric Metaxas summons the Church to battle. An attenuated and unbiblical “faith” based on what Bonhoeffer called “cheap grace” has sapped the spiritual vitality of millions of Americans. Paying lip service to an insipid “evangelism,” they shrink from combating the evils of our time. Metaxas refutes the pernicious lie that fighting evil politicizes Christianity.

Story
The ancient Toltecs believed that life, as we perceive it, is a dream. We each live in our own personal dream, and these come together to form the dream of the planet, or the world in which we live. Problems arise when our perception of the dream becomes clouded with negativity, drama, and judgment (of ourselves and others), because it's in these moments of suffering that we have forgotten that we are the architects of our own reality and we have the power to change our dream if we choose.

The Qur'an, believed by Muslims to be the word of God, was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad 1,400 years ago. It is the supreme authority in Islam and the living source of all Islamic teaching; it is a sacred text and a book of guidance that sets out the creed, rituals, ethics, and laws of the Islamic religion. It has been one of the most influential books in the history of literature. Recognized as the greatest literary masterpiece in Arabic, it has nevertheless remained difficult to understand in its English translations.

The secret to happiness is to acknowledge and transform suffering, not to run away from it. Here, Thich Nhat Hanh offers practices and inspiration transforming suffering and finding true joy. Thich Nhat Hanh acknowledges that because suffering can feel so bad, we try to run away from it or cover it up by consuming. We find something to eat or turn on the television. But unless we’re able to face our suffering, we can’t be present and available to life, and happiness will continue to elude us.

Soul relieving honesty
From the start, you can tell Sarah is going to be honest about what she’s walked through. There are no simple, easy solutions, which is refreshing. Life changes and we have to learn to grow and change with it. What you end up finding is a tool kit to help you along your journey from someone who is on that same journey too!

Honest, Relatable, and Needed
First of all, I love it when author's read their own books! It always brings more depth and authenticity to the book. Second, I loved this book because it is honest, relatable, and needed. The title and content hit home with me, and I think many other women will feel the same. Though I don't have kids (or horses, ha!), I still loved the stories and how they brought her ideas to life. Sarah really does a terrific job expressing what a lot of us are feeling and even offers up her own practical insights for help and healing. Whether you're having a bad day, a good day, or just a day, you'll be glad you picked this title.
