Ok as intro, but lacking in research and inconsistent

I was expecting a short book about intermittent fasting to be consistent and well researched. But what I found instead was a very small amount of content that was inconsistent and more than half the book focused on specific foods and recipes. It was disappointing that the author focused so much time on types of foods/macros instead of the mechanics and tips for fasting itself.

Examples of inconsistencies:
- Author mentions that the goal of fasting is to reduce insulin, but then recommends that 25% of calories come from carbs.
- Author instructs to avoid sugar, but then recommends fructose and foods that are rich in carbs/sugar (e.g., lots of fruit, sweet potatoes and grains).
- Author says not to count calories, but then o strict to limit consumption to a specific amount of calories.
- Author says to eat healthy fats, but then recommends low fat foods.
- The Author mentions become “fat adopted,” but fails to recognize that consuming too many carbohydrates will directly interfere with becoming fat adopted.

While a low carb high fat way of eating would be much more compatible with IF, I would have much preferred this book to leave the specific macros/foods out and really focus on the fasting itself.

Lastly, the author never mentions the importance of supplementing with minerals and electrolytes when fasting.
