Q-Bert & Josaih, a match made in Abby

4.5 - 5 stars for book and narration.
Josiah Erickson is another amazing character from the mind of TJ Klune. He ranks so close to Gustavo Tiberius in epicness.
I am not a stoner and so some of this is not in my understanding, but it is still that zany Abby in Oregon and all the wonderful people that make this another winner in my mind. Sometimes it almost seems as if Klune uses the old Mad Libs from my childhood to create the fantastical places, situations, characters, etc that make up the stories from Abby. At times I thought I recognized Dr. Scott from Rocky Horror Picture Show and several other potential homages to past surreal characters.
The actual romance is so sweet, as is the continuation of Casey and Gustavo's relationship as well.
As the subtitle is called (How to Be, #2) and with such a large cast of unique characters that have not fully resolved, I am hoping that inspiration will occur for TJ and we will again be inextricable drawn to Abby again. Of course that will be a re listen to #1 and #2 again.

I listened until it finished, and was wanting it to continue....bring on the next book!

So Good!

This story of a queer, demisexual, stoner, hipster, actor falling in love just might be the most perfect light-hearted romance ever written. Michael Lesley, the narrator, has a perfect feel for the characters and brings them to life. You should listen to this book.

Audiobook was amazing

I might actually lose sleep over the ending. Looking forward to the next installment in the series.

I laughed. I cried. I couldn't stop listening. I almost didn't sleep.
It was a little jarring to go from the first book to the second with a new narrator, but they're equally fabulous and Michael Lesley was perfect for this book. So, so good. I wish I was an alien so I could give his performance even more than 2 thumbs up.

It's the simpler things

I absolutely loved this audiobook and its story. I swear that TJ Klune and Michael Lesley are a match made in writer-narrator heaven. The story is nice and sweet. The characters are funny and likeable. I found myself actually laughing out loud at some scenes in the way that only Klune's writing and Lesley's narration gets me. Highly recommend to anyone in the mood for a sweet story with a happy ending,

Oh to live in Abby

For some reason, I really want to get high right now. I'm not sure which movie I want to see more. The one they're making or the book itself. This series is so fun. The stories are really laid back with awesomely crazy (in the best way) dialogue and characters. I so want to live in that little town and still own a video player so that I can rent movies to watch on it (while utilizing Vlad the Inhaler). ;)

Best book ever

I will admit to being a die hard bibliophile. I read a lot and love a lot of what I read. But very little compares to the experiences I have reading TJ Klune’s books. This one for example was pretty much perfect. It’s a sequel to how to be normal. I think this was surpasses that one by a mile. The characters are so lovable and quirky. They are both believable and whimsical at the same time. You can tell that the book has a very personal note. It talks a lot about dealing with depression and anxiety but in a way that makes it accessible and fun. Michael Lesley has to be one of my favorite American narrators. I wish I read more books. All in all worth every penny and every second

It’s been months since I listened to a tj Klune book.
Wow. Why did I wait so long?
Amazing, insightful, not to mention hysterically funny are to name but a few words to describe “how to be a movie star”,
Helps if you listened to the 1st of the “how to be” series, but not a requirement. Anyway, why would you not listen to it first. It’s equally brilliant.
The narration. What can a say? Another superb performance by a master narrator Michael Lesley who brings the story to life and adds such vast depth/array of color.
Well done to you both.

A-Maze-Ing

I loved this book. These characters are all so lovable and touching. My new literary hero is Josie. I will always aspire to be as good and pure as this character. Thank you TJ Kline for creating and thank you Michael Lesley for bringing them to life as only you could do.
