Publisher's summary

Sam Becker loves—or, okay, likes—his job. Sure, managing a bed-and-bath retailer isn't exactly glamorous, but it's good work, and he gets on well with the band of misfits who keep the store running. He could see himself being content here for the long haul. Too bad, then, that the owner is an infuriating git.

Jonathan Forest should never have hired Sam. It was a sentimental decision, and Jonathan didn't get where he is by following his heart. Determined to set things right, Jonathan orders Sam down to London for a difficult talk…only for a panicking Sam to trip, bump his head, and maybe accidentally imply he doesn't remember anything?

Faking amnesia seemed like a good idea when Sam was afraid he was getting sacked, but now he has to deal with the reality of Jonathan's guilt—as well as the unsettling fact that his surly boss might have a softer side to him. There's an unexpected freedom in getting a second shot at a first impression…but as Sam and Jonathan grow closer, can Sam really bring himself to tell the truth, or will their future be built entirely on one impulsive lie?

Stellar performance by Will Watt

Quirky story and some truly laugh out loud moments, but voice actor Will Watt kills!

Great characters and story

The story did a great job of making you fall in love with all the characters. It was truly a great book. Another winner by Alexis Hall.

One of my favorite authors.

Alexis. This quirky, charming and delightful story is written so well. I appreciate your humor and adore your style. I died laughing over the Stockholm syndrome mentions. You are always an automatic purchase for me. Narration is spot on too.

Excellent Narration

Will Watt's narration is perfect and makes this fun, fairly low angst Christmas story even better.

Wonderful Story, Beautifully Narrated

“Boyfriend Material” by Alexis Hall was my “gateway drug” into this genre, and it has remained the book by which I’ve judged all the others to which I’ve listened or read. “10 Things That Never Happened” is its equal. Wonderful story full of brilliant, laugh-out-loud funny lines, all exquisitely narrated. Very highly recommended.

Brilliant and witty

Alexis Hall is an instant buy for me. I love his writing style and story telling. Ten things that never happened brings together Sam and Jonathan, two very different people who fit like two chaotic puzzle pieces. I was hooked from the start and smiling at the end.

Not as perfect as BM and HM, but pretty good

I think it’s my fault for having top high expectations (Boyfriend material is one of my ALL TIME favorite books, and I sort of hoped this would have the same vibe). And the story was truly interesting and the characters are very realistic and engaging, but the story was not as sweet and romantic as I thought it would be. Also, I am not a fan of stories where lying is involved. Just my personal taste.

That being said, the narrator is phenomenal. In the beginning it as a bit hard for me to understand the accent, as I am not a native English speaker, but when I got used to it, I really enjoyed it.

strong beginning and end

excellent performance! the beginning and ending are excellent but it sagged in the middle for me. the romance never quite clicked but gollum is an excellent character who convincingly bridges that disconnect

Great Xmas love story

Heartworming Xmas story. Funny, tender. Alexis has a real talent to capture nuances in human nature. Loved it, definitely worth it!

Amazing performance, VERY slow pacing and fast wrap up

Amazing performance but the story pacing was way off, still a wholesome funny read tho but takes really long to get to the romance
