Publisher's Summary

This audiobook features an introduction read by Bill O'Reilly.

The Revolutionary War as never told before.

The breathtaking latest installment in Bill O'Reilly and Martin Dugard's mega-best-selling Killing series transports listeners to the most important era in our nation's history: the Revolutionary War. Told through the eyes of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Great Britain's King George III, Killing England chronicles the path to independence in gripping detail, taking the listener from the battlefields of America to the royal courts of Europe. What started as protest and unrest in the colonies soon escalated to a world war with devastating casualties.

O'Reilly and Dugard recreate the war's landmark battles, including Bunker Hill, Long Island, Saratoga, and Yorktown, revealing the savagery of hand-to-hand combat and the often brutal conditions under which these brave American soldiers lived and fought. Also here is the reckless treachery of Benedict Arnold and the daring guerilla tactics of the "Swamp Fox" Frances Marion. A must-listen, Killing England reminds one and all how the course of history can be changed through the courage and determination of those intent on doing the impossible.

    "Killing England"

Great writing of history! I will listen to it again. I appreciated the realism and realize that we would not have our independence if it weren’t for Washington. Thank you.

    "You Must Read This Book"

If you are interested in history and have a curious mind as to what life was like at the beginning of our country this is a must read. I learned many facts about the people who participated in our freedom. Not exactly what we learned in school Goes into great detail.

    "incredible historical detail "

Though we grew up with a watered down, and abbreviated version of our beginnings, this book leaves no doubt about the effort and bravery of our founding fathers. Kudos to to the rag tag Continental Army for their efforts and loyalty in securing our independence and freedom!

"Exciting and touching - Moves quickly!"

Loved it. As always, Bill O'Reilly makes history as enjoyable as a gossip column! Only nit was that Bill only reads the first chapter himself. The reader for the rest of the book is fine, but I miss hearing Bill's voice.

"another great historical book all should read!"

Thank you again to Mr OReilly and Mr Dugard! if everyone knew the difficult struggle those early patriots went through there would be much less "USA bashing" ! What a gift we have been given to be Americans and live in this amazing, wonderful country! God bless the USA!

    "Fascinating "

I have always been curious about many of the small details regarding the revolutionary war and how our country got started. This answered so many questions and put many things in perspective that I either didn’t know about or hadn’t thought about. I loved it.

    "The American Revolution Comes Alive"

This is the one of the best and most accurately-lively books on the events leading up to and surrounding the hard fought colonial victory that brought the United States of America into existence. With so much controversy and disrespect in America today for the lives and practices of the Founding Fathers of America, all Americans should read this book. It is easy to read, well documented, and provides a vivid picture of the price they had to pay for rebellion against England to establish the greatest constitutional republic yet founded in the world. My thanks to the authors for their painstaking research and love for American History that breathes life and excitement throughout the book. Historical truth is what engenders the respect that America's past deserves in spite of its imperfections.
