The must-have companion to Bill O'Reilly's historical docudrama Legends and Lies: The Patriots, an exciting and eye-opening look at the Revolutionary War through the lives of its leaders. The American Revolution was neither inevitable nor a unanimous cause. It pitted neighbors against each other as loyalists and colonial rebels faced off for their lives and futures. These were the times that tried men's souls: No one was on stable ground, and few could be trusted.

When our founding fathers secured the Constitutional “right of the people to keep and bear arms”, they also added the admonition that this right shall not be infringed. It is the only time this phrase appears in the Bill of Rights. So why aren’t more people listening? History has proven that guns are essential to self-defense and liberty - but tragedy is a powerful force and has led many to believe that guns are the enemy, that the Second Amendment is outdated, and that more restrictions or outright bans on firearms will somehow solve everything. They are wrong.

Story
If you think you know George Washington, think again. This is the amazing true story of a real-life superhero who wore no cape and possessed no special powers—yet changed the world forever. It's a story about a man whose life reads as if it were torn from the pages of an action novel: Bullet holes through his clothing. Horses shot out from under him. Unimaginable hardship. Disease. Heroism. Spies and double-agents. And, of course, the unmistakable hand of Divine Providence that guided it all.

Just a generation ago this place was called America. Now, after the worldwide implementation of UN-lead program called Agenda 21, it's simply known as the 'Republic'. There is no president. No congress. No Supreme Court. No freedom. There are only the Authorities. Citizens have two primary goals in the new Republic: to create clean energy and to create new human life. But The Great Reset is not a work of fiction. It is a highly influential movement among the world’s elite to “reset” the global economy using banks, government programs, and environmental, social, and governance metrics.

Politics is no longer about pointing to a shining city on the hill; it's about promising you a shiny new car for your driveway. The candidate who tells the people what they want to hear is usually the one who wins - facts be damned. Politicians may be sleazy and spineless, but they're not stupid. They see that the way to win is by first telling people everything that is wrong with the world and then painting a vision of the life they want - a Utopian vision that they'll create right here on earth, one where no one is ever sick or hungry, jobless, or homeless.

It works by manipulating public perception so that ideas previously thought of as radical begin to seem acceptable over time. Move the Window and you change the debate. Thirteen-time #1 national bestselling author Glenn Beck realized years ago that somewhere along the way, his four children had become more focused on Santa than the meaning of Christmas. No matter how he tried, he could not redirect their attention away from presents and elves to the manger instead. Glenn didn't want to be the Grinch who spoiled the magic of Kris Kringle, so he had to find a unique way to turn his kids back toward the true meaning of Christmas. He decided the best place to start was by first turning Santa himself back toward Christ.

Publisher's Summary
Thomas Edison was a bad guy and bad guys usually lose in the end.
World War II radio host Tokyo Rose was branded as a traitor by the U.S. government and served time in prison. In reality, she was a hero to many.
Twenty U.S. soldiers received medals of honor at the Battle of Wounded Knee - yet it wasn't a battle at all; it was a massacre.
Paul Revere's midnight ride was nothing compared to the ride made by a guy named Jack whom you've probably never heard of.
History is about so much more than memorizing facts. It is, as more than half of the word suggests, about the story. And, told in the right way, it is the greatest one ever written: Good and evil, triumph and tragedy, despicable acts of barbarism and courageous acts of heroism.
The things you've never learned about our past will shock you. The reason why gun control is so important to government elites can be found in a story about Athens that no one dares teach. Not the city in ancient Greece, but the one in 1946 Tennessee. The power of an individual who trusts his gut can be found in the story of the man who stopped the twentieth hijacker from being part of 9/11. And a lesson on what happens when an all-powerful president is in need of positive headlines is revealed in a story about eight saboteurs who invaded America during World War II.
Miracles and Massacres is history as you've never heard it told. It's incredible events that you never knew existed. And it's stories are so important and relevant to today that you won't have to ask, Why didn't they teach me this? You will instantly know. If the truth shall set you free, then your freedom begins on at the start of this audiobook. By the end, your understanding of the lies and half-truths you've been taught may change, but your perception of who we are as Americans and where our country is headed definitely will.

Eye Opening
Where does Miracles and Massacres rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of the more engaging books I've listened to in awhile. If you're a listener that enjoys historical trivia in bite sized bits, then this book's for you.
What about Ron McLarty and Glenn Beck ’s performance did you like?
Overall, the character voices, the accents and, the general narration makes for pleasurable listening. I, however, found myself cringing every time McLarty read cavalry as Calvary (as so many other narrators do). Huge difference in the meaning of these two words, and the misuse is highly distracting.
Glenn Beck is..., well Glenn Beck.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. But being able to listen to several complete stories any single sitting scratched that itch.

Great Book
Would you consider the audio edition of Miracles and Massacres to be better than the print version?
I never read the print version but I always prefer audible to reading the book if at all possible. I am reading a 700 page book right now and I wish that was on audible but it is not.
What did you like best about this story?
Well there is more than one story. As the book states in it's title, "Miracles and Massacres." There were stories from the civil war to other stories about battles and massacres. If you are a history buff you will love the stories. The different stories were fascinating. I especially found myself caught up in one Indian Massacre. It was an extremely sad story about how the American Army massacred a Village of Indians and lied about the story to make the Army look good. I even found myself becoming angry during the story. This was a good book and I have much respect for Glen Beck just for writing it.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
I did not like the narrator at all. I got used to him towards the end of the book but his reading of the Civil War, and the parts that Massachusetts played in the war, was flat out hard to listen to. I feel that I even missed parts of the book because I was fussing in my mind about how I was going to listen to the whole book with this narrator. This could just be me though. I'd hate for people not to buy this great book because I didn't like the narrator. It's a good book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No it was too long to listen to in one sitting. I listened in two parts. However, I prefer the longer books than the shorter books. I find my self looking for the longer books.
Any additional comments?
Glen Beck really knew his stuff. I love history, and I grew up in Massachusetts, so I loved hearing about that states part in the Civil War. I knew a lot about the civil war but I didn't know about some of the battles fought in Massachusetts. This book is a good teacher on different battles of any war that it discussed. Glen Beck must have researched a lot before publishing this book. I wonder where he got his information on one Indian massacre because it was a good story. This is a great book with interesting stories. If the book was read with another narrator it would be one awesome book.

Engaging, entertaining, and informative! Superb narration!
These are wonderfully engaging and entertaining stories of American history, stories rarely recounted but well worth hearing and knowing! Told from the perspective of "ordinary" (or, rather, "extraordinary") citizens whenever possible, they draw listeners in and immerse them in the world in which the stories are set. The characters are brought to life by the narrator, Ron McLarty, who easily and flawlessly breathes emotion into them. McLarty fluidly and seemingly effortlessly transitions from one accent and one readily recognizable character to another. Highly recommended...I didn't want it to end!!!

How history should be taught.........
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Would absolutely recommend this to friends who both believe in either the best or worst of America. This has both and is told in such a way that you pour straight through it. Tells the stories of both the greatest and darkest days of our nation. Will really need sequels or a genre built around this history telling. I really also think it has a place in telling the stories or teaching world history, science, philosophy, and the other humanities..
What was one of the most memorable moments of Miracles and Massacres?
Battle of Wounded Knee........ It made me ashamed of our military leaders that at the time were wild men. To make maters worse they sent the same general to the Phillipines directly after, where he caused the same evil crimes.
Have you listened to any of Ron McLarty and Glenn Beck ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
The is the easiest "non-fiction" to enjoy to date....... The Overton Window and The Eye of Moloch could be listened to side by side..... Still had a being George Washington to it some how also; which I loved reading, but couldn't listen to.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
See Battle at Wounded Knee and the Real first fight/use of the second amendment in Massachusetts..

Just Take A Sip
Written in a narrative that anyone can understand. I'm not a "drink the kool aid" type person but Beck makes his points profoundly and soundly. History, both good and bad, is a part of us as individuals and as a nation. It shows what BIG government is capable of and shows what someone with a moral center is as well. I highly suggest that you listen to this book.
