Publisher's Summary

This program includes an introduction read by the author.

A rare, insider’s look at the life of Donald Trump from Bill O'Reilly, the best-selling author of the Killing series, based on exclusive interview material and deep research.

Readers and listeners around the world have been enthralled by journalist and New York Times best-selling author Bill O’Reilly’s Killing series - riveting works of nonfiction that explore the most famous events in history. Now, O’Reilly turns his razor-sharp observations to his most compelling subject thus far - President Donald J. Trump.

In this thrilling narrative, O’Reilly blends primary, never-before-released interview material with a history that recounts Trump’s childhood and family and the factors from his life and career that forged the worldview that the president of the United States has taken to the White House. Not a partisan pro-Trump or anti-Trump book, this is an up-to-the-minute, intimate view of the man and his sphere of influence - of “how Donald Trump’s view of America was formed, and how it has changed since becoming the most powerful person in the world” - from a writer who has known the president for 30 years. This is an unprecedented, gripping account of the life of a sitting president as he makes history. As the author will tell you, “If you want some insight into the most unlikely political phenomenon of our lifetimes, you’ll get it here.”

Excellent insight....

Disclaimer: I did not vote for Trump or Hillary last election. There are times when I can't stand this man. But I have observed that he has very loyal family and employees. And I often wondered what I was missing. Unfortunately, I can see myself (my behaviors) in this man. I have ADHD and can see that there are times that what pops in head, pops out his mouth. Even when that is not what he might be feeling. He thrives on fast paced, thought out, but mostly gut reaction risks and decisions. He is quick, but inarticulate. But since that description applies to most of America's population, I can see the draw.

He has pleasantly surprised me with his actions, pissed me off with his tantrums and made me snicker with his jabs and blocks to the press. But, I wanted to know what makes him tick and why he is so successful. This settles my mind a bit in the upcoming election, as I was formerly a never Trumper.

It was the Democrats election to lose, I would have given them a chance, all they had to do was run a moderate, And yet the extreme left of their party has forced people into the position to vote, yet again for more and more extreme candidates. So this has helped me accept the decision to elect Trump.

I can tell this book was very difficult to write... trying to follow someone with ADHD is like trying to interpret a ping pong ball. And the story is put together, I am guessing, the best O'Reilly could given his subject. But it is the little things that O'Reilly observed and reported that made me see Trump as a human and not political robot.

Great job O'Reilly!

No surprises story

I listened too the entire book, found it not to be one of O'Reilly's best. True he states he had difficulties with getting a true history from Trump, so the story lacked depth there. If you are a follower of politics especially areas affecting Trump you already know all that O'Reilly discussed nothing new there. It was just a summary of Trump's first 3 years in office with all the hate filled events from congress and the left. The most interesting part of the story was O'Reilly 's thoughts on the 4 most important things that Trump wants to achieve before leaving office.
True it was not a negative biography, and I'm happy for that. For people who don't follow Trump or his policies, but are curious to know more this a good story to learn more in a positive manner.

Good information

Bill does a good job pulling up some little known facts about the young Donald. The second half of the book seemed like a campaign recap which isn’t what I wanted, but it’s a solid book

Back to the No Spin Zone?

If you are a fan of Bill O'Reilly's previous books you will certainly like the style of this one. When I heard about this being his next book I was upset it would not be a book on history. Killing Kennedy and Killing Reagan are my favorite books written by him. I have to say though, its a great read that honestly suck me in. It felt like Bill had his show back and was just a great read. The aspect of both of these men knowing each other and the interview that happens due to their mutual respect shines a light on Trump that I dont think a lot of other books can do. The book is not propaganda though. The book does show parts of Trump that may not be pleasing. The book tries to show Trump in a fair light and it shows which is something Bill O'Reilly has done with all his books.

Ashamed

I was hoping O'Reilly would provide an honest account of Trump. I have listened to most of Bill's books and found them to be excellent. Not this book. You can tell almost immediately he is Trumpie's best friend and he is not going to be truthful about the man. I am seventy, a republican and my first time voting was in Viet Nam. I have owned three companies and would be considered successful so I am not some ordinary Joe blowing off steam about the worse president this country has ever seen in my lifetime. The man creates turmoil every time he speaks, simply because he is unable to tell the truth about anything he says or does, O'Reilly prides himself on getting to the truth with every book he publishes and yet with Trump he failed measurably. If you're going to write about your buddy Bill, title your book "My friend Donald J Trump" by Bill O'Reilly. Leave all your sweet talking Trump BS at the curb for the folks that fail to understand reality.

O’reilly does it again ... a great an honest look at President Trump

Bill does an awesome job researching the subject matter for his books, in this case he has first hand knowledge to share. The book is non-partisan and in my opinion an accurate account of what makes Donald Trump who he is, love him or hate him. If you want to cut through the BS you read on line and hear everyday from the media then listen/read this book. A great listen, well done as always- Jim Hoelscher, Charlotte, NC

Awesome book

I loved this book and audio. The facts are compelling and O’Reilly does an smack down on the fight between the left and right.

Extremely informative !

An extremely informative well written book !
The content is great !
However, if I am being honest, I was very disappointed with the performance of the narrator !
His impersonation of President Trump is
painful !
I give the content an A+ !
The narration a C+ unfortunately.
Based on content alone,
I highly recommend the book !
Another O'reilly homerun !

Interesting perspective, too apologetic

The author gives an interesting perspective on Donald Trump and his election victory. The author stresses that he thinks he is 'fair' and has a good enough relationship with Donald Trump to tell him when he believes he gets things wrong. The story is well written, easy to follow and enjoyable to listen to. I like the fact that the author tries to see it Trump's way and tries to explain why 60 plus million Americans voted for Donald Trump. I get all that. I strongly believe we need to listen to each other and see different perspectives.
Ultimately though, Bill O'Reilly (despite the fact he tells us repeatedly that he is fair), he is too apologetic towards Donald Trump. All the nasty tweets, the personal attacks (remember him mocking Serge Kovaleski, a disabled reporter), the lying, the climate change denial, the tearing down of the international collaborations that were built up after the pain of the second world war, all get very little mention, despite the fact that the author clearly was in a position to question Donald Trump on these points. We are not talking here about somebody leading a baseball team or an army platoon, we are talking about the US President - a person with immense power, with giants like Roosevelt, Lincoln, as predecessors.
There is no balance in the narrative, there is very little 'fairness', and although I enjoyed the story, it is ultimately a missed opportunity to find the middle ground and help close the gap between pro - and anti- Trump, hence the overall 2 star score.

No spin Trumph story

Bill O'Reilly is the master of presenting the unvarnished fact in a manner to make then understandable .It was well narrated and hold the listeners interest. Donald Trump a non politician has treated the economy and jobs of America as a corporate business problem .Recognising the counties like China need to adhere to international rules reconising patent and registered designs to create a global economical balance . Trump has put a stake in the ground .
