Great Narration!

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel do an outstanding job with the narration of this romantic suspense. Their voices for each of the characters are spot on and their emotions and inflections make it a very enjoyable listening experience. Amber has had a rough time with her life since running away from home at eighteen. Her dreams of becoming a teacher were shattered when she meets Hunter. He abuses her and she must eventually flee to save the life she of her unborn child. She finds help from her childhood friend Nate and together they must find a way to stay alive as Hunter closes in. The story is exciting and emotional in spots; another enjoyable story from Rachelle Ayala. I received a free copy and am providing an unbiased review.

Will the prodigal daughter be welcomed home?

This author always weaves the theme of forgiveness through her books, and this was no exception. The story reminds me of the prodigal son, except this is a girl, and she runs away from her family. That said, like the prodigal son, Amber returns home after a couple of years, mainly because her beloved grandma is dying, but hoping for reconciliation with her family. She returns with lots of baggage...figuratively. You see, Amber was picked up by a fur trapper when she ran away, and was all but held hostage for a year. Since she was from a sheltered home...daughter of a ultra conservative pastor...the 'real' world took some getting used to. When Amber became pregnant, the fur trapper, Hunter, took her to have an abortion, but she ran away. Now she's returned home, with a newborn and nowhere to go. She enlists the help of her childhood friend, Nate, who's a barkeeper and innkeeper. How will Nate react when he realizes that Amber has a baby? Will he ignore small town gossip or send her away? To add some drama...the fur trapper is in town hunting for Amber...will he force her to return to the mountains with him? Lots of action and self examination packed into this relatively short story. The ending was perfect...just the HEA needed after all that Amber has endured. As always, the narration team does an phenomenal job pulling you into the story.

Hide My Heart

Not your typical Rachelle Ayala story, but I loved it just the same.

Amber had a very strict upbringing, but she left home at 18 to live her own life. The situation she found herself in was less than ideal and she had to get away. Will her only childhood friend help her and also keep her secret?

Listen as narrating duo Tor Thom and Charley Ongel deliver a performance that conveys just the right amount of emotion in this thrilling tale.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Another Great Book!

Another great book by Rachelle that has a little bit of everything; love, loss, forgiveness and an HEA. Amber has had a rough couple of years and to make it even worse she’s found out her grandmother is dying. On the run from Hunter, an abusive man who locked her up shortly after she left home at 18, Amber needs to find a way back home to say goodbye to her grandmother while hiding from Hunter. To make matters even more difficult she has a newborn to take care of. Finding solace with her childhood crush Nate, Amber begins to heal while their relationship slowly evolves into more. Without giving away the whole story and since the books summary did a really good job at providing the main events that happen in the book I’ll just say this; it was a really good book. Rachelle’s books have never disappointed me yet so I would definitely recommend this one too! It’s a great story that has a good mix of everything which makes it easy to listen to and holds your attention throughout.

Both the narrators were great too! Neither one of them did anything to distract you from the story. The reading was smooth and flawless.

Romantic Suspense

This is a different type of story than what I've listened to from Rachelle Ayala before. It's romantic suspense with a theme of forgiveness. Amber was raised in a strict religious family and couldn't wait to leave town when she turned 18 even though she'd be leaving Nate behind. Nate and Amber exchanged dreams of their futures. When Amber left, Nate thought she would end up fulfilling her dreams but she was picked up by an abusive mountain man named Hunter. When she became pregnant, he took her to get an abortion but she escaped and ended up having the baby. She returns home when she finds out that her grandmother is dying. Nate finds out that Amber came back with a baby. He knows how bad that would be if the town found out. He tries to help her but in the meantime Hunter finds them. Will Nate and Amber survive to become a family? Please listen and find out. This is such a wonderful story written by Rachelle Ayala and narrated as a duet by Charley Ongel and Tor Thom.

Haunting and Riveting

This is a slightly unconventional romance story from this author but no less powerful and insightful. This story will wrap itself around your heart until it is the only thing you see, feel, and know. Romantic suspense is only of my absolute favorite genres, and this story proves exactly why. The storyline is compelling, the characters truly inspiring, and the feels are out of this world. Nothing can prepare you for the depth and heart within these pages!

Amber and Nate have watched their lives turn into something they never would have imagined. While one falls into a dangerous situation, the other finds them self drowning in stagnation. When they reconnect, their lives are blown apart by the connection that has only grown between them. While the danger hunting them down forces the evaluation of the decisions that brought them here, they are also faced with how they want to spend their future. Will they allow things to stay the same, or will they take an even bigger danger head on and ask for what their heart longs for above all else?

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel performed this audiobook to pure perfection! This story was brought to life through the magic of voice, and I fell in love with these incredible characters once again. I am always left in awe after I finish enjoying an audiobook. The magic of an author's soul weaved to the power of the human voice is a heart-changing and life-altering experience every time!

Another winner from the author and narrator

I’m not surprised that Rachelle wrote another winner. This one shattered your heart on life , family and the human race. But like always Rachelle brought it all back together again. The team of Tor Thom and Charley did a fantastic work. They did all the characters parts right on the voices were clear .

What happens when a female decides to leave home, Amber has no choice but to run . Amber runs with her 3 month old son. Why ? Her ex boyfriend Hunter is abusing her. Tragedy sends Amber back home and before she knows it she’s in hunter eye. Eventually she asks Nate for help. Nate agrees
Nate and his mom run a hotel with a bar . When Amber asks for help Nate readily agrees . Nate had feelings for Amber before she ran.
Both Nate and Amber are stuck in an ice storm will Hunter track them down or will they find a way

Great romantic suspense!

Every time I listen to Rachelle Ayala, I know I am in for a treat. A new adult story of finding yourself despite your circumstances, Ayala has incorporated love and suspense into the web. Amber has left home to flee her overbearing parents and find her freedom. Little did she know Hunter, the man that picks her up would be her nightmare. She is able to escape and when she finds out her Grandmother is sick, she travels home to say her goodbye. What she doesn't know is Hunter, is still looking for her. Seeking help from her friend Nate, she attempts to stay hidden and safe. Can Nate keep her safe from Hunter? Will secrets be revealed? In true Ayala fashion, I took away a few lessons embedded into this gem of a story along with a sweet romance, high thrills and an ice storm to cripple any town!

Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are a team able to narrate any genre given to them. With this story, the inflections of both narrators gave us the fear of the hunt along with young and unconditional love. Their ability to draw us in and make us see and feel the story is impeccable creating a magnificent listen.

A Christian Thriller Romance

If you are a Rachelle Ayala audiobook fan, you will find this audiobook quite different from her usual style. This book is set in a small town in Idaho and reflect that sort of environment. The community seems to be split between two families. One consists more of hellfire and brimstone preachers and the other owns a bar and motel (making them the sinners). Amber is from the first camp and Nate from the latter. They have a secret friendship and share their hidden dreams to get out of town. Except that all changes when Nate looses his brother in an accident and Amber runs away and finds herself in the clutches of a criminal.

One year later Amber has escaped from her abusive boyfriend, has had a baby and comes back to town to visit her dying grandmother. She reconnect with Nate but before they can figure out what to do, the boyfriend makes an appearance.

This book focuses a fair bit on Christianity. It is central to the plot theme which mainly involves forgiveness and love. In fact, not really being a Christian fiction connoisseur, I found it fascinating and unusual how action packed and thriller-ish this Christian romance really is.
