Publisher's summary

What do you do when the entire nation is on lockdown?

If you’re an heiress to a billion-dollar fashion company, then you quarantine in a glamorous cabin and finish your final semester of NYU online.

The best way to focus on her upcoming valedictorian honor is away from her family, classmates, and the paparazzi. Cameron St. James is ready to get out of the big city and head upstate for seclusion, despite her parent’s pleas to stay home.

What do you do when a pandemic is sweeping the world?

If you’re barely making ends meet, then you isolate yourself in your best friend’s mountain cabin with breathtaking views and no neighbors for miles. It’s the perfect safe place away from three roommates who don’t take the life-threatening epidemic seriously.

Elijah Ross is ready to work remotely and focus on his next big promotion, assuming he’ll still have a job after this.

What happens when things don’t go as planned and you’re stuck with the one person you dislike the most?

You improvise and do whatever it takes to avoid each other, though it proves to be impossible. The cold evenings alone turn into movie and popcorn nights together by the fireplace. Days turn into weeks, and eventually, more than just a friendship blossoms.

As the unknown haunts them, they lean on one another for comfort - until someone pops their safety bubble and threatens everything.

The Two of Us is an enemies-to-lovers brother’s-best-friend stand-alone romance set in the current affairs of history in the making. Though the character’s storyline is fiction, the circumstances are very real, and we’re sensitive to this topic. This is a story about hope, love, and so much more with a guaranteed happily ever after.

I loved this book!!

This audio brings this book to life. I loved reading this book, but listening to it brings something else to it. Plus I love Emma Wilder, she is one of my favorites. So when your favorite author uses one of your favorite narrators, you know you will love it.
This book is such a sweet listen during this crazy time that they world went into total chaos. I love these characters and can't wait to see what happens next in this world.
But when you listen to this book you get the same feels that you the characters are feeling.

Cami & Eli!

In times of a pandemic, people must quarantine! Cami is finishing out her last semester at NYU and where better to seclude herself than at her brother's cabin? Eli, her brother's best friend is also there, unbeknownst to her. And from here our story begins! These two have grown up together. Being Ryan's best friend and their housekeeper's son gives Eli an edge. He knows Cami and exactly what buttons to push to annoy her. But now is not the time. This unexpected circumstance gives Eli the chance to work on that secret crush he has always had on Cami. Little does he know her feelings. Will they find love? Will they stay safe? What happens next will show you exactly what happens. Kennedy Fox comes out with a book relevant to the times, full of witty banter, serious issues and a love that makes your heart sing. It's a wonderful listen.

Tor Thom and Emma Wilder bring this gem to life with a dual narration to melt your heart. With Cami and Eli, there are high emotions, from grief to fear to love, all given to us with the inflections and nuances only these two narrators can give. I loved this team, each bringing their own style to their characters. These two made me laugh and smile, perfect for my weekend listen.

Not quite ready for this book yet

This was my 1st time reading/listening to this duo thou my book babe had highly recommend I felt like a ptsd moment as this book was centered on our current situation it was my fault I shouldn't have jumped blind.

That feeling aside it was a good book, the story was very realistic, i did not like some of the inner monologues as they did repeat themselves a bit, over all the story had a great connection between the two characters and the way the heroine grew thru the book was the best.

Kennedy Fox's book comes to life

Over all this audio was spot on!! I have already read this book and listening to it brought out a whole new level.

The banter between Eli and Cameron was off the charts. Even with off the charts banter, the HOTNESS between these two was even further off the charts. The best part of this book was that they brought a real life situation into a different light. They also did a great job bringing to light the seriousness of having anxiety. The narrators who brought these characters to life, they just fit Eli and Cameron spot on.

While listening I fell in love with these characters all over again.

Loved this!

i definitely loved this one! it was a nice read and i loved that this book followed our current reality.
it's not all sunshine and rainbows for these characters because they have some issues they need to get over especially when it comes to each other.

things get steamy between these two and they can't deny their attraction any longer.
there was the perfect mix of humor, angst and some surprises that came in.

i definitely had my emotions played with a bit in this book but i'm glad that things worked out for these two.

4 stars and i definitely recommend this!

Good Story Overall

Ok...I couldn’t read/listen to this book for months after it came out because I simply couldn’t handle the COVID storyline. And I’ll be honest...it may have affected my rating of this book. I loved the premise of enemies to lovers/brother’s best friend and the love in isolation element really worked. But the themes involving the pandemic still bothered me and made the story less enjoyable (for me personally). I’ve felt the effects of the pandemic on many levels and know those who have suffered from it/contracted the disease, including immediate family...but living in a small southern town, the pandemic looked very different compared to this New York setting and I found it harder to relate to the characters. Some parts I really felt though!! And I loved the humor mixed in. Also, the chemistry between the main characters is FIRE!!!!! Further, I’m glad the authors didn’t make it too political because I really don’t want that in my romance novels. Kennedy Fox are a dynamic duo and I purchase everything they write! Good narration as well.

A realistic love story

Wow. Kennedy Fox really brought the realness of the world we are living into a beautiful romance story with The Two of Us. It is a forced proxcimity/opposites attracts/brothers best friend romance. I love these tropes and I devoured this story. Cameron has retreated to her family's cabin as the world enters a lockdown due to the covid-19 pandemic. Just as she is starting to settle into isolation on her own her brothers best friend, Elijah shows up and they are forced into lock down together. Cameron comes from a wealthy family and has grown up with a lot of privledge. She hasn't had to do much for herself. Simple tasks such as cooking and laundry were new to her and it was quite funny watching her figure it all out. Eli and Cami have so much chemistry. The sexual tension was off the charts for the first half of the book. Their intensity and connection I adored! The second half had a lot of emotion and angst and I was dying for them to get their HEA. I loved the little bit we learn about Cami's brother Ryan and her best friend Kendall and I am dying for their story next.

The narration done by Tor Thom and Emma Wilder was fantastic. Their passionate voices really made these characters come alive.

fantastic read

I read/listened The Two of Us by Kennedy Fox last month. I thought that I was getting a nice fluffy covid romance right, wrong. I'll honest I wasn't sure if I was ready to read this as things progressed in the story. Having lost someone so important to me to this virus it hit differently.

I love the forced proximity relationship between the 2 characters and how to their relationship progress from the moment they were together to the moment you know things happened. I found it in the way they cared for each other and changed pieces of themselves not for the other person but like for the other person.

I appreciated that this book wasn't solely covid centered and on the relationship and what was going on in their world and really excited to read the next book. So they didn't specifically call the virus in the book Covid they left that nameless but I mean anyone in 2020 knows exactly what are talking about.

Also, I absolutely love the narrators of this book they were fantastic!

An uplifting story and a perfect escape!

Gah, these characters!

The Two Of Us is the first in the Love in Isolation Series by this phenomenal writing duo! Its a departure from Cowboys but not from there engaging and addictive writing style! Written in Dual perspective's during a Pandemic, you very quickly fall in love with our main characters Cameron St. James and Elijah Ross.

Cameron St James (Cami) is a fashion empire heiress with a fear of not being in control and of the media seeing her in a terrible light. All her life everyone has expected her to be perfect so she's created a persona that hides who she really is from the world. Only those closest to her know the real Cami.

Elijah Ross (Eli) was the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, He's been in Cami's life for as long as they can both remember and have disliked each other for just as long. Eli is Cami's brothers Best Friend so he thinks he knows her better then anyone, but even this heiress will surprise him.

The Two Of Us was a super sweet and swoony story of the love that grows between two people who dislike each other and are forced together in insolation, hidden away from the world. The Two Of Us couldn't have been written at a more perfect time, 2020 has been a YEAR and the pandemic that we are currently living through has been world changing. This story addressed the very real fears that people all over the world are experiencing while also showing us that even when it feels like the world is falling down around us, love is always there. The Two Of Us was an uplifting story that was the perfect escape from the real world.

The audio book for The Two of Us was such a great listen, I was enthralled from the very first chapter and thought the narrators brought out the emotion in each character is different scenarios so perfectly. It was captivating!

Fox reminds us it's okay to laugh.

Fox finds the humor in irony. The Two of Us is a chance to escape the reality of isolation and take a look on the bright side of temptation. Cami and Eli find stability in an unpredictable time. Thom and Wilder bring a vulnerability and sense of humor to an uncertain situation. Fox brings every emotion to the surface and reminds us it's okay to laugh.

Forced proximity

The narrators really bring the characters to life and have you instantly captivated!
Wow, what a perfect blend of reality and fantasy!!! A well written story based around the recent pandemic. Cami and Eli grew up together, but came from completely different backgrounds. Cami is an elite fashion heiress set to inherit millions, whereas Eli works pay check to pay check. When growing up they both had secret crushes on one another, but argued like crazy. What will happen when they end up together at her family's cabin? And will they finally admit their true feelings? Expect plenty of suspense, laughter, friendship, family, passion, love and more throughout. Enjoy this thrilling read/Listen!

Cami & Eli

Eli and Cami’s book is set in 2020 when the world took a strange turn and life as we knew it “disappeared” overnight. For these two characters that’s exactly what happened. Cami is an heiress to a fashion empire with a multi million dollar penthouse in Manhattan and Eli is barely making ends meet with a respiratory disease. In their quest to find safety away from the city they find themselves at her family cabin upstate. They’ve know each other since they were young and had a hate/love relationship ever since so when they become roommates their connection can’t be denied.
In the troubled times we all lived in 2020 this book felt really close to home. Weren’t we all scared and anxious of what the future may hold? The unknown and uncertainty of what was to come?
And even though I agree with other reviews that a shooting in the middle of the pandemic theme was unnecessary it was probably a reality when so many people were desperate for basic supplies.

Although not my favourite book/ audiobook from the Kennedy Fox catalogue it was still really good and very very real.

Emma Wilder and Tor Thom are simply amazing and really brought Cami and Eli to life.

The best audio book I’ve listened to in a while!

Reading this book while we are in the middle of the exact same pandemic as the characters are, was a little confronting at times. Only because a lot of people use reading as an escape and when reading The Two Of Us, I wasn’t escaping anything, it just felt like I was just reading someone else’s story about this reality. Kennedy Fox was respectful in their writing about this pandemic and had their facts. I never once felt like what I was reading was complete garbage or and exaggeration/understatement of what is going on. I loved The Two of Us, in fact I loved the ebook but I LOVE LOVED the audiobook. The narrators were awesome and conveyed the characters in the best possible way.

A romance that people can relate to in 2020

The Two of Us is something a little different in the sense that it is set during the initial outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in New York City. Going into this I wondered how much of a part the pandemic would have to play in the story and I think Kennedy Fox found a good balance. Cameron (Cami) and Elijah (Eli) grew up together, Eli is Cami's brother's best friend; but have seemed worlds apart for some time now in an almost enemies to lovers vibe. When the pandemic breaks out in New York city Cami decides to retreat to her parents Cabin outside of the city to isolate and stay safe. What she doesn't expect is Eli to turn up on her doorstep with the exact same plan in mind.

I really enjoyed The Two of Us, it was a lighter read for the most part and I actually enjoyed that it felt relevant with what's going on in the world right now. The pandemic itself served as a catalyst for the romance by means of getting the Hero and heroine together in a cabin alone, hello forced proximity vibes. From here I think it's woven into the story well in way that feels present but doesn't overwhelm the romance of the story but adds to it and gives what happens throughout a purpose.

In terms of the romance, Cami and Eli have a clear attraction but it takes some time for them to give into it, warring with themselves internally about making a move. These two had great banter and Tor Thom and Emma Wilder really enhanced the story with their performances on the audiobook! I did worry about the story becoming a bit stale set in the one cabin the whole way through BUT Kennedy Fox threw a couple of twists in there and kept the drama up, which I loved!

For me this was an easy listen and by the end I was completely invested in Cami and Eli's love story, following on from the epilogue I am looing forward to seeing how Ryan and Kendall's story will play. Will the cabin be their lucky charm too when it comes to love in isolation?

My Thoughts on The Two of Us

This book was a truly well written story that may be fiction but felt so realistic. I was nervous by the idea of stories, particularly romance written about these pandemic times. It's such a tense and stressful topic to be living in and for me, I didn't know if I could enjoy a story written about it. Even in my favorite genre, romance. But this book shows me how wrong I was. This story was done right. It had a brothers best friend trope which I love and that kind of helped. It wasn't two strangers thrown together and falling in love over a couple weeks. These two had history, even if it wasn't always pleasant history. I also just loved the progression of the story. The way Elijah but effort into them really getting to know each other. The different tests their relationship was put through during their isolation. It was all just so well done.

And I can't say enough good things about the narration. Tor Thom has been one of those narrators I've liked for a while but I honestly think he is getting better with time. And Emma Wilder has a great normal tone, but I think I kinda love her male voice. She's one of those female narrators that I can happily listen to in dual narration any day cause her guy voice is on point.

Cami and Eli!

Finally a good book about our current situation! I loved Cami and Eli, their chemistry was amazing together. I was hoping it would be more "hate to love" kind of story so I was not as invested when they get past through their hiccups. Totally me, not the book situation. Overall, this was enjoyable and a good portrait of two young responsible people in the face of a pandemic!

Wish my quarantine was as fun and hot as this one

Good character development and I enjoyed the story line and the pacing. I really liked Eli and Cami and their relationship - great chemistry. Best of all, its a standalone (not a duet) so their story wraps up at the end. But it's not all fun and games and the author describes a lot of fear and anxiety over the pandemic that can cause some readers issues. The two narrators were perfect for these characters - loved both of them.

Cami and Eli!

Cami comes from an affluent lifestyle so although she is book smart she has never had to be worries about the mundane chores of daily life. With the pandemic sweeping the nation she decides that getting away from the media attention she garners and focusing on school is exactly what she needs to get through this crisis so she heads of to her family cabin to get the peace and privacy she needs.

Eli is her brother’s best friend who is concerned about the lack of concern his roommates seem to feel about the current events. With the help of his best friend, who also happens to be Cami’s brother, he arranges to stay at their family cabin far away from the mayhem that he is currently experiencing.

Neither expected the other to be there so when they find out about their living arrangements the sparks of antagonism fly. As they spend time together, they finally acknowledge that their disdain for each other was only hiding the attraction they felt for each other but can two people from very different lifestyles find a happy ever after once normal life resumes?

The chemistry between them was intense, their banter humorous and although their journey definitely had it’s challenges it only made them realize how special what they had with each other really was. I thought the narrators did a great job with both the characters and the story.
