Publisher's summary

A second chance prequel from small town romance author Brooke Montgomery about high school sweethearts who find each other again after 10 years and reveal secrets that change everything.

I didn’t know I was pregnant. Ayden walked away from me a decade ago and never looked back. The only thing he left me was our sweet, amazing daughter, and a mile-long list of small-town secrets. When his father—the town’s mayor—threatens me, Ayden’s childhood best friend steps in, and I have no choice but to fight the battles he ran away from. I spent years looking for the only man who’s ever stolen my heart. When I finally find him in Sugarland Creek, Tennessee, I go and face him. He deserves to know the truth. Not just about his child, but his best friend, too. No matter how much time has passed and how far apart we are, my heart still beats for him. But I don’t want to get hurt again. Even though I want to give us another chance, it’s not just my heart on the line...it’s our daughter’s, too.

Come With Me is a prequel in the Sugarland Creek series. If you love second chances, secret children, and small-town tropes, you’ll fall hard for Ayden, Laney, and Serena! Each book in the series is a stand-alone and ends in a happily ever after.

Entertaining

Brooke Montgomery is a relatively new author to me, and I am shocked that I have not read more from this author. Come With Me is a prequel to the Sugarland Creek series and was an entertaining second chance at love listen.

When Ayden walked away from his high school love Laney, she was destroyed. That is until she found out she was pregnant and had no choice but to focus on her baby. She tried to find Ayden for years with no success until fate stepped in and she learned he was in Sugarland Creek, Tennessee working for the Hollis family.

After tragedy strikes Laney has no choice but to confront the only man she has ever loved and tell him the truth. I love small town romance books, add in the suspense element and I was hooked.

The narrators CJ Bloom and new to me Bradley Ford did a wonderful job with their presentation. Not only are their voices easy to listen to but they brought both the characters and the story to life for me.

Ayden & Laney

What a great start to a new series. I am so looking forward to what else is to come. Ayden and Laney are so perfect together! The narrators made the story easy to listen to and flowed really well. They kept me interested and made me feel the emotions which is all I ever look for in an audiobook so this was a good one.

A Good Start

Ayden and Laney story is a good start to a small town series. It’s a darker more serious than, second chance romance than I thought it would be. TW: talk of abuse from a parent, rape off page, attempted murder on page.

I Love An Audio Prequel!

What a great idea to have a prequel produced into an audiobook before the series officially starts.

Usually second chance romance isn't my favorite trope but this one won me over. I really enjoyed Ayden and Laney's story. It had sweet moments, spicy moments and did a great job of introducing the ranches family without making me feel overwhelmed by characters & a full length book.
I loved seeing Ayden develop his relationship with his daughter Serena. Daddy vibes!

Plus the little bit of suspense at the end was fun!
The audio was so fun with CJ Bloom & Bradley Ford doing a great job with the southern accents!
I'm ready for this small town series!

Amazing Second Chance

The narrators did a superb job with the southern accent and really bringing Ayden and Laney's story to life. This is a fantastic start to this series. I absolutely love this book and want more! Ayden and Laney reconnect after 10 years and it is like no time has passed. The connection these two share is beyond words. Once Ayden finds out he has a daughter he is all in no matter what. He just has to convince Laney. These two have some major obstacles to overcome but one thing that is not in question is these two are so hot together. This book has plenty of spice and angst, I literally listened to it one one sitting. Love the small town, chosen family dynamic that is beautifully woven into their second chance romance. Can't wait for the next book.

People meant to be always end up together

WOW!!!

This little prequel was so beautifully done. The way they start out by telling you about the Sugarland Creek family is nice because you actually know who they are when they have their time in the light.

The amount of "Scandal" and secrets that fell perfectly along with the second chance romance troupe. This definitely gave me a little bit of throw back vibes to Kennedy Fox's Keeping him with the secret pregnancy/child troupe and it was so cute how they became the family they always wanted to have!!!

The twists and turns will have you eating this book up. I finished it in 2 sittings and I cannot wait to re-read it when I have the whole series!!!

This book was what I needed to help me out of my little reading sabbatical. It was flirty, sweet, easy to follow with a dash medium spicy. Definitely recommend for someone who wants a real easy page turner

Shorty but a Goody - Great Primer for a New Series

Prequel to a new series. No prior reading required.

This is a shorty, but a goodie. It's a great primer for getting to know Sugarland Creek and all the players that will be involved in the new series moving forward.

Ayden & Laney were high school sweethearts. But Ayden needed a fresh start. He wanted Laney to come with him, but she couldn't leave her family business. Their parting broke my heart.

It's now 10 years later and Laney has found Ayden in his new life in order to bring news of the life he left behind. He has stayed out of touch and has no contact in his home town. But once some of the details are let out, their future is completely entwined forever more.

Facing the past and forging a future, these two have to tackle secrets and stand up for the life they want to live... together. Even though it's a shorter story (4.5 hours in audio) this one packs quite a punch. There's emotions and feels and some OMG! moments, some WTF?!? moments, and some oooohhh baby *Fans Self* moments.

Also, Brooke packs quite the hook on the end of the book just making me itch for Book 1 Here With Me like now!!!

The audio is performed by CJ Bloom and Bradley Ford. I love CJ! She's always amazing in her performances. The quiet moments, the hesitancy and guilt while trying to decide when to release what information... the base accent was really fun, just a soft twang that says she's southern, loved it. Bradley was new to me in this title but I totally want more from him. Ayden went through the wringer and Bradley just brought it! The dirty talking, the caretaking, the righteous justice seeker, it was all there in the voice. Also, both narrators did 9 year old girl voice for Serena in a way that made me smile huge. I'm definitely recommending this one to others.

I requested and was provided with a copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.

Loved This Listen

This is a story about second chances and is ten years in the making. Ayden and Lainey were high school sweethearts. However they have known each other since they were kids and I loved that so much about them. When he disappeared it took ten years for them to find each other again and for ten years she has been holding onto him the only way she could because they have a child together. His father might have stood in their way before but now that he knows he has missed ten years with the woman he has always loved and their daughter he is not going to let anything stand in their way. He has a lot to make up for and is willing to do the work. Things however can't be that easy right? Lainey has been through so much with his father that he has not a clue about and she has her daughters heart to think about along with hers. I really loved this story. I loved the character and getting to know the Hollis family. You do not want to miss this story. It was one that I couldn't stop listening too and loved every second of.
