Publisher's summary

Regal romance abounds in this flirty, laugh-out-loud companion novel to Prince Charming, by New York Times best-selling author Rachel Hawkins.

Millie Quint is devastated when she discovers that her sort-of-best friend/sort-of-girlfriend has been kissing someone else. Heartbroken and ready for a change of pace, Millie decides to apply for scholarships to boarding schools...the farther from Houston the better.

Soon, Millie is accepted into one of the world's most exclusive schools, located in the rolling highlands of Scotland. Here, the country is dreamy and green; the school is covered in ivy, and the students think her American-ness is adorable.

The only problem: Mille's roommate Flora is a total princess.

She's also an actual princess. Of Scotland.

At first, the girls can't stand each other, but before Millie knows it, she has another sort-of-best-friend/sort-of-girlfriend. Princess Flora could be a new chapter in her love life, but Millie knows the chances of happily ever afters are slim...after all, real life isn't a fairy tale...or is it?

New York Times best-selling author Rachel Hawkins brings the feels and the laughs to her latest romance.

Really good book

This is really good book highly suggest I read this on the bus and before I go to sleep although it did go a little to fast for my liking but if you want a book that doesn’t take away long to read this is the book because I was able to read within 2 days

Dropped the ball towards the end

The story is good and has interesting characters but the pacing is very off. The last 15% of the book is conflict between the two of them that's doesn't make sense because it's not addressed properly and it happens with about an hour of story left. The story could've greatly benefited from Flora's pov and having other personal conflicts that didn't only tie back to a romantic relationship.

It left me wanting way more than its able to give.

Lighthearted and predictable

I am so sick of bad Texas accents. As a lifelong Texan most of us do not sound like we are from east Texas or west Texas which is how the narrators always portray us. The story was completely predictable but fun and light and still somehow engaging overall

Quick listen

It felt like a lot happened in a short period of time.
It is pretty unusual for a book with many characters to stand out and be recognized as individuals to me but this did that spectacularly.
All the characters besides Jude felt like good genuine people, and that level of realism was greatly appreciated.
The story didn't feel rushed.
The characters weren't inconsistent and the pacing was quite fast.
I was shocked in a good way at the intermediate level vocabulary / mature dialog.
My Only real problem was the lack of build up or background on sacks and Perry's relationship.

LOVE IT!!!!

Absolutely loved this book! Could not put it down. I wanted to keep listening to it but I either had to work or sleep. The characters had depth, the story was raw, and the performance was impeccable. Great story and great job all around!!! Would highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a beautiful lgbtq+ romance and feel-good book. It has all the emotions in it. Give it a listen or a read. You won’t regret it. If you love love, you’ll love this.

Super Sweet, Cute! Great Narrator

It was a super sweet story and am glad I went outside my norm to read this one, I wish it had been a bit longer and gave us more about some of the other classmates and friends. Maybe these characters will pop up in another book.

Sweet princess romance

I found it to be a bit repetitive at times but that was a minor issue. Overall, it’s a fun romance! I love that it takes place in Scotland!
