Publisher's Summary

Bury your enemies, and bury them deep.

John Milton thought he was done with Avi Bachman. The most dangerous man he's ever known has been incarcerated in Angola, the brutal Louisiana prison. Inmates rarely leave Angola. Once you go in, the only way out is in a box. But Bachman is no ordinary prisoner. He was an assassin for the Mossad, and he has favours to call in.

Milton is in the Australian outback with an old friend and his flirtatious kid sister, looking for a summer’s peace to put his troubled mind to rest. But Bachman has other plans. He thinks that Milton killed his wife, and now he wants revenge.

From Australia to Israel, from Hong Kong to Croatia, here is the conclusion of this brutal chapter in Milton’s life. The two headhunters are on a collision course, and only one of them will walk away. Don’t start this audiobook in bed - you will lose sleep.

Mark Dawson has worked as a lawyer and currently works in the London film industry. His first books, The Art of Falling Apart and Subpoena Colada have been published in multiple languages. He is currently writing three series.

The John Milton series features a disgruntled assassin who aims to help people make amends for the things he has done.

The Beatrix Rose series features the headlong fight for justice of a wronged mother - who happens to be an assassin - against the six names on her kill list.

Soho Noir is set in the West End of London between 1940 and 1970. The first book in the series, The Black Mile, deals with the (real-life but little-known) serial killer who operated in the area during the Blitz. The Imposter traces the journey of a criminal family through the period; it has been compared to The Sopranos in austerity London.

Waltzing Matilda!

In Mark Dawson's just released John Milton Book 7, an Aussie lass named Matilda plays a major part. The fight between Milton and rogue ex-Mossad super agent Avi Backman that began in Book 5 finally comes to a conclusion. I love Dawson's John Milton series, his Beatrix Rose series, and the recently begun Isabella Rose series. Headhunters does not disappoint. The one criticism I have of the audiobook is that it is too wordy; it should have been 8 hours rather than 11.5 hours. Mark Dawson writes great thrillers!

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! But listen to the earlier books first.

Love John Milton! Love this series!

This story picks up right where Book 6 ended--Avi Bachman is out to get John Milton and will chase him to the ends of the earth for revenge. But this shows the difference between the two men. Our man is the more honorable. Milton just wants to be left alone. He introspects on his life in terms of love, relationships, addictions, and justice. This is what makes him a moral killer and not just a sadistic sociopath.

There is plenty of action and plenty of detail, just what you would expect from Mark Dawson. Great story! And David Thorpe does his usual fantastic job with the myriad of voices and accents.

Great Book: Annoying Character

Ok Mr. Dawson I absolutely love your books. In the last 4 weeks I have only been reading about John Milton BUT ***spoiler*** I only rated this book 4 stars because I was forced to listen to the most annoying character - the female character, sister of John's friend. You have to win the award for writing in one of the most annoying characters☺. I've already download the next book so you haven't lost me as a fan!!!!

Milton and Avi Bachmann...Awesome!

I'd recommend this book to the die hard wonderful fans of the John Milton series. What I especially liked in this book was Avi Bachmann. He is quite the character that should have perhaps had his own series (hint, hint, wink, wink, Mark Dawson & David Thorpe)...just saying. It's nice that Milton gets to travel to different countries and engage in mayhem: it keeps things fresh and interesting, plus exciting. If you are on the fence, don't overthink it...go out and purchase this magnificent book. But make sure you have read the previous 6 books first, because it's one massive storyline.

Another exciting book about John Milton

This book was as good as the rest. Avi Bachman is a worthy adversary, Milton is smart and clever.

Great story, but a slow start.

Some parts were not believable . The characters are well done. The voices need improvement.

Another gripping Milton story...

Headhunters is essentially the continuation and conclusion of the previous book - Salvation Row.
After calling in a few favours, Avi Bachmann manages to escape from prison and only has one thing in mind, finishing John Milton once and for all.
Milton has found his way to Australia, and soon realises that Bachmann has the Mossad on his side. Their reach stretches far and wide, and with nowhere to hide Milton decides that a full on approach is his only option.
A good story, well narrated by David Thorpe.

Loved it, was concerned it might become samey but the story worked really well.

Really enjoyed Headhunters with its international flavour. Have listened to all the John Milton stories, I tried some other books along the way and then came back for a John Milton fix. Didn’t get bored at all and enjoyed the characters, the information and the action. Thanks, Steve

Riveting !

This book follows on from the previous book and takes place all over the world, only really missing out the African continent. Fast paced and exciting from start to finish and, I wonder, there might be a happy ending ?! Milton is back on form ... but he has been stretched to the limit !

Another great episode

Mark Dawson's John Milton series is one of the best of the genre easily as good as Reacher and Nowhere man. In this book his battle with Avi continues. Well written with great characters and the narration is spot on.

Not the usual great storyline - too bitty

I absolutely love John Milton but this story just leapt all over the place and it became too fragmented for me to really enjoy. I still have no idea why we needed to know so much about Ziggy’s adventures in Japan seeing as it had little bearing on John Milton’s quest to destroy Avi Bachman.

I hope the next one stays more linear as I’d be sad if this was a decline in the quality of storyline from now on.

Gripping as always.

I really enjoy the exploits of John Milton. Each book is a "standalone", although I have actually read them in chronological order.

Gripping!

I definitely sacrificed sleep to follow this one! Milton was faced with outsmarting his dreadful nemesis, Avi Bachman. What a journey! But well worth taking with Milton. A great story, excellently narrated. I have to get the next in the series now I'm sold on it!!

Ah! Mr Dawson, you have written a beaut one!!

Well we have moved to Australia, in John Milton's attempts to stay out off the official radar. However, a former foe has unfinished business, with out beleaguered hero.
I hate to give a great storyline away, but I will advise that this perhaps the best of this series, yet. Perhaps I am prejudiced, having a lot of the action in my backyard.

Full on Action and emotiona

I didn't want to stop listening to this book. Often spent a few extra minutes listening before leaving the car for work.

Sometimes the behaviours of the main characters a bit silly but overall a great book to listen to. No shortage of action!

Recommend you have a listen.

Great read but pretty unbelievable even for Milton!

Great read as usual although the story is way more far fetched than previous Milton novels. A few funny things I picked up that wouldn't be true in Australia but only knew that because I am Australian. You don't peel off 1 dollars from a roll of bills here. Really liked most of characters and characterisations though the Aussie accents weren't flash, great and gripping even if it is more than a bit unbelievable.
