Publisher's summary

Jon Reznick will protect New York City or die trying.

When a group of homegrown attackers takes aim at cops outside a Fourth of July baseball game, black-ops specialist Jon Reznick and his daughter, Lauren, are caught in the crossfire. Jon hunts down two of the gunmen. But the last member of the group is at large and about to launch a fresh killing spree across the city. Cops are under fire, and Jon must stop this madman before more people are killed.

But Jon’s renegade tactics and vigilante justice are starting to ruffle some feathers, and his friends in high places might not be able to help him anymore. With leaks inside the FBI and resistance from the NYPD, Reznick doesn’t know whom to trust.

He knows one thing: he won’t watch the city he loves be torn apart, especially not with his daughter in the crosshairs. But can he get to her in time?

Always a great story by JB Turner!

This series never disappoints, and this book was equally amazing. Starts quickly, and keeps the intensity up well. Whole story takes place over about a day, so it keeps you glued!

How these books haven't been turned into a Netflix or Amazon series is beyond me. Definitely should be though!

Good story and fair narration..

So, after the 6th book, that hating it so much I couldn’t believe it, I wasn’t going to read another Jon Reznick story. BUT I gave in and read this one. It turned out pretty good but I’m real tired of his daughter. In book 6 I wrote this in my review, “To make matters worse he finds out, at 80% of the book, after his daughter is all better, that she is a student of Krav Maga, can shoot and carries a gun, all the while she’s a college student.” In this book she was nothing but a smart-a$$. AND J.B. Turner keeps making Jon a cold-blooded killer, not that the gang-banger didn’t deserve it, but still, he was on the ground and unarmed, but Jon shot him in the head twice. I’m not sure I’ll read book 8 when it’s out. He’s making our hero not much of a hero. IMO.

No sex or romance and the F-bomb was used 118 times.

As to the narration: Jeffrey Kafer has a good reading voice and he’s getting much better at doing feminine voices.

Lauren Is Braver Than Smart..

Narrator is at top of his game. Love his fast talking Reznick.

Even my husband likes listening to these stories. With his background, that speaks volumes. Meyerstein and Reznick's character growth and relationship is moving right along at a good clip.

Now, as to his daughter Lauren. Smh🤔, the girl is braver than she is smart. She jumps in without proper training. With her Dad being former Delta, that should be pretty easily remedied. First, she needs trauma medical training and should carry a small case in her backpack and inside an inner coat pocket. Second, Krav Maga training so she learns to use whatever is at hand. Third training with Reznick's hacker buddy. With these things accomplished, she won't be superwoman, but pretty darn close. She's young enough to take the Krav while finishing college then spend the summer before FBI training with hacker. She'll truly be an asset then. So where's the next book already?😁🥰

Absolutely THRILLING

This is one of my favorite series, and hands down the most thrilling of any series. J.B. Turner puts the THRILL into thriller. Narrator Jeffrey Kafer is the voice I love of Jon Reznick.

Hard to put down

INTernet has a way of spinning a story that keeps you focused on the plot and wondering how it will be resolved without becoming too outlandish, and IN has the perfect formula.
Loved it.

A different kind of story and a welcome change

This mini book in the series is different from the rest. Not so many plot twists, but action packed. It does feel a bit like a screenplay turned into a book more than a book that could get adapted for the big screen. Super interesting and it keeps your attention. Each book is about a day or a day and a half of listening to so you can get through the series in about the same amount of time as a trilogy series by other authors.

Loving the Reznick stories

I love the progression of these books and the characters. So topical. With Reznick in the middle of it. He truly does attract danger.
