INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER HOW FAR DOES THE APPLE REALLY FALL FROM THE TREE?

Good Me Bad Me is dark, compelling, voice-driven psychological suspense by debut author Ali Land: "Could not be more unputdownable if it was slathered with superglue." —Sunday ExpressMilly’s mother is a serial killer. Though Milly loves her mother, the only way to make her stop is to turn her in to the police. Milly is given a fresh start: a new identity, a home with an affluent foster family, and a spot at an exclusive private school. But Milly has secrets, and life at her new home becomes complicated. As her mother’s trial looms, with Milly as the star witness, Milly starts to wonder how much of her is nature, how much of her is nurture, and whether she is doomed to turn out like her mother after all. When tensions rise and Milly feels trapped by her shiny new life, she has to decide: Will she be good? Or is she bad? She is, after all, her mother's daughter.

"Land takes the reader on a terrific voyage into the teenage psyche...an intense, insightful first novel; its believable characters caught up in realistic situations will make the reader think more deeply about teenage mental health. Fans of Jay Asher's Thirteen Reasons Why will enjoy this book immensely." - Library Journal

Story Way Too Long!

This is dark and unsettling. The story drags on, and none of the characters are even likable. Kept listening for the sole purpose of hoping the story would improve and something would finally happen, but no such luck! It's pretty clear from the beginning, based on the title itself, the main character was going to have two different sides. Frankly, the only great parts to the audiobook were the flawless narration and finishing it after 3 painstaking days. This performer is definitely one of my very favorites! Her voices are spot on. Think it's time to return it, and hopefully, select a better novel with the credit from Audible.

Disturbing read

I did not enjoy this book at all. The premise caught my attention, but the development of the story was choppy and weak. The ending was terrible and overall, I was left feeling very disappointed in my selection. The narrator did a fine job, however, despite the very unlikeable main character.

Intriguingly Dark, Well-paced

The premise on its own is quite unique, not the typical thriller, so it really held my interest. The story touched on tough subject matter that required a skillful balance of revelation versus background/description -- which I think was achieved well. This allowed the book to not be disturbing and instead focused on the character development. It was extremely well-paced and Imogen Church did a particularly great job of representing the age, attitude, struggle and persona of the main character. I definitely recommend this book.

Psychological Thrill Ride

Disturbing, edge-of-your seat thrill ride. The narrator of this book is PHENOMENAL! Frightening story line. Makes me think twice about every teenage girl I see...

Gripping

I couldn't stop listening. And the performance is hauntingly perfect. It has a noire feel to it, frightening without being violent. A fantastic book.

Kept hoping for more. Predictable and slow.

Disappointing, no shocks or crazy twists as other reviews had explained. Had the potential for a more compelling story though.

Will make you cringe.

I adore it when Imogen Church narrates. A hard listen with an atrocious story. Lacked an invigorating plot line.
