Loved it.

I’ve loved Steve’s standup for some time now, and really enjoyed this book about his youth.
I purchased the physical copy months ago after a show, but never had the time to read it, so I decided to get it through audible and let Steve read it to me. I think it was even better coming from him.

Best book I've read all year

As the title suggests, this books was amazing. I grew up in a similar environment, and the way Steve presented his childhood resonated deeply for me. It was funny in a way only he can be. Thanks Steve!

Friends Reminiscing

This is so relatable. Everyone has had these kind of interactions in high school. Steve has such a wonderful way of telling his life and experiences that make you feel like this whole book has been just the two of you having a great conversation about childhood.

A great listen on a long drive.

A great book with a very personal touch. The author reads his words as if you are sitting next to him and he is telling you a personal story.

Ginger Me This Batman!

What a surprise ... I did not know what to expect but what I experienced was a great summer read. Hey, Oprah here is a great read for your list ... It was nice to find a writer that can tell a story so complete its as if your jumping into the literary time machine and now your in halls of Hunter H.S. waiting to hear who is going to prom with who and rooting for young love and all the Ginger Nerds is the world. If you have lived H.S. from the out crowd at all, you will laugh and smile on this adventure. I'm glad this book found its way into my summer collection.

Genuinely Engaging

I liked this book far more than I thought I would. Hofstetter narrates his own material, which definitely lends to the feeling of the book. I'll look for more from Steve Hofstetter; my only detraction of this book is that I wanted more. That's the sign of an enjoyable experience. I also dropped the author an email to let him know that I enjoyed the book...he got back to me within 24 hours to thank me. I didn't expect a response, and thoroughly appreciate the contact. Hoping Steve has a few more books in him, and the time to narrate them himself.

A story of nerd triumph from a great comedian

Good story, very relatable, and a feel-good vibe overall. Not as funny as anticipated from someone I consider to be hilarious, but basic and humble, which I can appreciate.

Uplifting

I have followed Steve for the better part of 2 years on YouTube. Iv always found him extremely funny and brutal when it comes to hecklers. It’s great to hear a story of his life like this as everyone loves an underdog and that’s exactly what Steve is. This book shows that anyone suffering from the social stigmas in school and teenage society in general can lift themselves up to become a much better person than others have always said they are.

Thank you Steve for a wonderful sense of satisfaction.
