Hockey star Max Yearwood was everything I needed at the time - fun, sexy, up for anything, and only around for a few months, since he’d signed with a new team 3,000 miles away. Max proposed we spend the summer helping me forget my ex. It sounded like a good plan. Things couldn’t get too serious when we had an expiration date. Right? She was raised in one of Wessco's oldest, most affluent, aristocratic families - "stuffy" is their middle name. So is successful. Am I friends with JP Cane? Ha! That's laughable. Besides the fact that he’s adopted some far-fetched notion from the movie When Harry Met Sally that says men and women can't be friends and work together, it’s safe to say we're not friends. He's annoyingly loud, obnoxiously handsome, and has made an art out of poking all my hot buttons...multiple times a day. So you can imagine how disgruntled I am when I not only have to fly to San Francisco with him for work, but stay in the same penthouse. Yup, we're sharing the same air, 24-7. We're talking full-fledged working roommates.

It all started with a bet. When my young son inherited half of his great grandfather’s historic inn, I decided to move us both to the place where I grew up. Notice I said half of the Inn. The other half now belonged to Levi Miller, the famous quarterback who had other ideas about what we should do with the property. We won’t mention that I accidentally injured him during our first meeting, causing him to get eight stitches. You could say we got off on the wrong foot. We bickered a lot as we both moved into the property while we figured things out.

A new standalone novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Vi Keeland. The night I met Drew Jagger, he'd just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing. Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant. Only, turned out, he wasn't an intruder at all. Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He'd been on vacation while his posh space was renovated.

Yea for another sexist book!
I normally enjoy reading/listening to Emma Chase books, but as a female physician, I am appalled and actually gasped out loud at the sexism and inaccuracies in the medical field (e.g. interns are physicians, etc) found in this book. It's so frustrating, I can't actually finish the audiobook. A solid, "what the hell," is more apt to describe my reaction to this story. I live and breath medicine on the daily and cannot tell you how frustrating it is to see the old story of female nurse and hot male doctor gets played out. You're better than this Emma, quite frankly, and you're perpetuating the wonderful sexist stereotype that I have to combat daily when it's always assumed I'm a nurse and not the actual physician. It's so frustrating to constantly have to endure the questions and comments like, "are you an actual physician? Are you sure cuz you look so young? There's no way you're a doctor because you're too pretty to be one. Hey darlin/sweetie/honey/etc...." and my personal favorite, "thanks darling for giving me my first stiffy today." Do you, Emma, have to endure daily questions about your worth based on your looks and how those looks cause people to question your degree? Do you face question after question from people who assume things about you without actually looking to see the letters behind your name? Do you have to work ten times as hard to get even a sliver of recognition for the same work as a man? Do you make 80 cents on the dollar to men in your same professional field? Do you get constant scrutiny about your make-up, hairstyle, and clothing choices by both males and females? Do you have your body daily scrutinized for possible pregnancy and how that would affect your job performance? Do you, when pregnant, live in fear of your boss(es) and how that pregnancy will be perceived? Do you get yelled at by patients when you're sick with morning sickness because you're five minutes late for an appointment due to said sickness? See, if we as women want to destroy gender stereotypes, then we collectively must understand our own biases and how those are perceived by both men and women. Let's break down long held old world stereotypes with a new world understanding by calling out the biases of our fellow women so they can choose to be better and do better. So here's me, a professional female physician, calling out you, Emma Chase, an author on her sexist book. Your book is exactly why I teach my girls about sexist microaggressions against women and the uphill battles they will face in the world.

Perfection!!!
This is one of my all time favorite series! I read a lot of different romance authors, but my husband says he knows exactly when I’m reading one by Emma Chase bc he constantly hears me laughing out loud! She’s the best! This book is a beautiful continuation of the Daniels family and Lakeside community. It portrays the difficulty and heartbreak of divorce while instilling hope in the redemption that comes with a new love. I recommend all 3 books currently in the series and hope there will be more ❤️

Another great love story.
I am a big fan of this series and Getting Real is a wonderful addition. It is a funny, witty, emotional, and loving story about second chances. We meet Connor in his brother Garrett‘s book, and now we finally got to see him meet his perfect match in Violet. Violet is a amazing woman with so much to give who is fits right into the Daniels family. And as always Andi Arndt and Zachary Webb were perfect.

Response to a Lengthy Tirade on Sexism…and an AMAZING book!
***EDITED TO SAY I think someone reported the reviewer I mentioned below so the first part may not make as much sense*** To the reviewer going on about sexism…I’d just like to say that while you have some valid points about sexism in general, you might have gone a little far considering this is a book review. It may not be the time to jump on our soap boxes and full-on vent our life frustrations. If you look hard enough for something, you will find it. I personally, after reading this story, did not feel it promotes sexism. Further, any book/show/movie depicting characters in a particular profession are going to get some of it wrong. Period. Especially in the fields of medicine, law and psychology. I believe any inaccuracies can be easily dismissed if you focus on the characters and the love story that unfolds. This book happens to be about a male doctor and a female nurse. This is THEIR love story. And it was a beautiful one at that. Enjoyed the steamy scenes mixed with sweet, wholesome family moments. There were some real tear jerker moments as well. Narrated by two of my favorites! What a treat…free listen with membership! Definitely recommend. Do not miss this one because someone got on her feminist soapbox. Sincerely, not an anti-feminist plus, and, also, without a doubt, a lover of Emma Chase.

Best narrators
Both narrators did a fantastic job, esp Zachary as he portrayed each son and their kid sarcasm, whining and bickering. Fun to listen to. The writing was excellent and I found myself chuckling in many spots. “Jesus take the wheel, and make it a convertible so you can whack Connor in the head with a low lying branch!” The story is good, with a beautiful romance, lovable kids, drama and angst, bumps in the road, but leading to a warm HEA.

#Relationship Adulting done well!!!
I loved this book! It’s nice to finally read a book where there are adults who can have a conversation and talk about their concerns and miscommunications. I also appreciate that the main character is a woman who isn’t whinny or a pushover. Who may have dialogues in her head but then they are expressed like real people to the man she cares about. I loved seeing the growth of their relationship and seeing them fall in love. This was a breath of fresh air from all the other romance books I’ve been reading! Great job, I highly recommend.

Very Real
Props to Andi and Zach for a most excellent narration. Zach narrated with such emotion this time he brought me to tears. So many aspects of this story hit home for me. I know a few nurses and what they go through on a daily basis. I'm a parent and I can also relate to divorce. Not only for myself but my youngest son separated from his wife last year.
Emma wrote such relatable characters and situations. This was one book I found very hard to stop listening to until I was finished.
I really am liking this new series.

It was such a wonderful surprise to see this title listed in my Audible Plus options! You simply can’t go wrong with Andi Arndt or Zachary Webber, and getting them both as narrators is a guaranteed good listen. Then to have a continuation of this series from Emma Chase just made this a trifecta of awesome. I loved the heart in this story. I actually teared up a few times! I won't be looking out for any more of this series
Very predictedable, and I'm not sure why we had to keep having the first and surname of the main character told to us all the time, we are not going to forget it every 3 or 4 minutes.

Wonderful
This is a beautifully written book. With a lovely storyline and great characters it’s definitely a winner for me. A brilliant performance from both narrators.

Loved it!
Another laugh out loud funny romance story. This is a brilliant trilogy of stories, but it is important to listen to them in the correct order, as the characters cross reference a lot between the 3 books, which is great, but would give the endings away if heard in the wrong order.
1st book - Getting Schooled
2nd book - Getting Played
3rd book - Getting Real

magnificent
didn't want it to end, happy tears from me at the end. the narrators were perfect for this love story set around a hospital. I loved Violet . hope the next one i read by Emma is half as good. you must listen to this as I will do again at a later date.

Beyond Wonderful!!!
How wonderful to follow a couple's happy story and not go around and around and end with a happily ever after... Thanks so much Emma for this incredible tale! And Zachary & Andi ~ you were both perfect too... I'm going on to the next two books now, but I'm sure I'll be back for reruns time and again... Thanks so much for this amazing production!!! :)

Heartthrob Dr Daniels 🔥❤️
I’m a softy when it comes to romance and this story just ticks all the boxes. Hot sexy Dr, great father, kind and caring….. what’s not to love. Violet is a true gem and deserves a great man in her life. I loved the banter between the Dr and his brothers, they had me chuckling at times. The sons also made me laugh. I have 3 boys and I know the kinds of conversations they have with each other. I would definitely recommend this book, what’s not to love about. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The narrators did an excellent job.

Amazing romance with humour, emotion and steam
Great narrators. Great story. Really no words for this beautiful book. Loved the romance, loved the couple. If you liked the first two books, you'll love this. And if you haven't read them yet, go read them. They're perfect too.
This is not duet narration, but I think it needs to be said that the performances of the narrators didn't make me miss duet narration at all. They made me feel all of it. Kudos to whoever cast them and to the narrators themselves. Stunning job, and I will absolutely relisten.

Does love like this exist
I devoured this book. It was so sweet and tender ❤️ I really enjoyed the whole thing. Warning - this book will make you yearn for a love story like Violets and ask yourself is Connor real and where can I meet my own one. The only thing I'll add is that the book ends on a less personal note than the lead up and whole story but is satisfying non the less.

A love story
Started off as a small town love story between a doctor and a nurse. Morphed into "Mummy Porn" and continued that way for the rest of the book. Some might say titillating others may just roll their eyes.

Most excellent book, finally a book about a mature man in his 40’s, and getting it right with his girl 💖
