Superheroes aren’t born, they’re made. But they can be broken.

Hugo continues his superhero training, eager to join the good fight. But when a deadly new enemy strikes close to home, he’s forced to make a choice: become the hero he wants to be, or the hero his city needs.

After exposing Titan’s murderer, Quinn’s next story explores the world of teen superheroes. And the deeper she digs, the more layers of corruption she uncovers.

Greyson is a wanted fugitive, hiding out on foreign soil. But if he doesn’t learn the rules, his refuge will become his grave.

Their fates will shape the next generation of heroes…and villains.

Warning: Contains profanity, ligers, and explosive superhero action. If you need a safe space from profanity, ligers, or explosive superhero action, this book might not be for you.

Great Continuation of the story and expansion of the issues each character faces. We hear all of the characters working to over come their issues and striving to grow. Their growth will eventually lead them to a conflict with each other as they embrace their missions. Cannot wait to listen to book 4 hopefully it is out soon.

Great Continuation of the story

I absolutely loved the first book in this series. This book had a lot of promise and had some really awesome aspects to it. I think that what bothered me about this book was the increased frequency and intensity of describing female characters in sexual terms. It seemed like there were too many instances where Hugo's pants got tight or he felt his loins respond when a pretty girl talked to him or he looked at her, checking her out. Yes, teenage boys are hormone driven idiots, but I don't think it needs to be written into the book that way. It takes away from the story, in my humble opinion.

The characters of high school age were described in hypersexual terms much of the time. It bothered me to hear about freshmen and sophomore students having sex. I know that it happens, but I don't think it should be celebrated. There were very few female characters that weren't sexualized in some way, with the exception of Hugo's mom and Zelda, perhaps.

It seemed like Hugo has become a man-whore, having become romantically involved with several girls in a non-exclusive way. This makes it harder to root for Hugo when he's already sliding morally (and it's only book two). I feel like this issue should have been addressed in this book, much the same way that him nearly killing Baz and his cronies was an issue for Hugo. I admit I haven't listened to the next ones yet, but I hope it does get addressed and the author doesn't continue to oversexualize the female characters, especially.

I think if we want men to be more respectful, male heroes have to be written more respectfully. If not for the hypersexual themes, I might have recommended this book to my students. As it is, I won't be recommending it to anyone under age 17.

Aside from that, the author is an outstanding writer. I know that I'm very critical, but there are some issues which just bother me as a reader / listener. Although it may be unclear, I am definitely a CC Ekeke fan.

Loved the first book....

If you like superheroes in any capacity please check out this book! Seriously I love superhero fiction and this story is so good. It's quickly become one of my favorites! The characters are believable and likeable. Each main character has a unique voice and the super hero action is here in spades. I love how we're looking in through the story from 3 unique perspectives. The media, a young idealistic hero, a great failed hero turned possible villain? It's so good! I need book 4 asap!

Another home run!

The plot thickens evermore with our highschool hothead superhero superfan making his way to the big time and looking stylish along the way. The Stateline outcast overthrows a country littered with self righteous leaders who enslave supers and humans alike while trying to find a way to cope with his guilt. Finally, your favorite curly haired reporter is up to her usual shenanigans and finding out the icy truth of why supers aren’t always as cracked as they is to be. Join these familiar faces and many more in the next action packed, bone crunching, explosive title of The Pantheon Saga. 9/10 Great read
