Publisher's Summary

A group of friends living in London's Covent Garden are subjected to the whims of a dangerous prankster. At first, whilst disturbing, the tricks are funny.

But as they continue they become more serious and violent, until finally someone lies dead. As the remaining friends struggle to manage their grief and identify the culprit, suspicion soon falls close to home and secrets furtively kept hidden are brought to light.

Alliances are formed, and the once tight group begins to turn on each other. Could one of them really be capable of murder?

Friends to die for

I enjoyed this book & didn't really want it to end.
My most memorable moment was finding out who the killer was ... I didn't see that coming.
I have a lot of books read by Annie & enjoy listening to her.

Narrator

Good story but narrator not the best - reminiscent of Catherine Tate's 'Nan' at times. Think a male would have been better.

Good old Whodunnit!

A disparate group of ten acquaintances have a Sunday dinner club arrangement. They like to play games in the truth or dare tradition. One fatal Sunday each one must reveal a life-changing moment from their past. Little do they know that this moment will lead to another life-changing moment for them all but with sinister results.
Although you might feel these people would never actually be friends in real life the story gets going at a cracking pace so your suspension of disbelief is maintained very well.
This is a classic whodunnit in the manner of an Agatha Christie albeit far removed from her particular universe of retired colonels and genteel settings; here the action takes place in Central London. Just as you think you have guessed the murderer your suspect is cleared or dies! The reader does an excellent job and is really pleasant to listen to.
This was an off-chance buy for me and I don't regret it for an instant.

Interesting story that kept you guessing

Keeps you guessing who the culprit is. Performance a little annoying but bearable. Would try another by this author . Not the best but by no means the worst.

Excellent.

My first book by Hilary Bonner. I really enjoyed this book.It was rather complicated at first,a lot of characters to remember ,but once sorted out the story was full of twists and turns , kept you guessing to the end. Very well read by Annie Aldington. Defiantly going to read more books by Hilary Bonner

Well written Story

What about Annie Aldington’s performance did you like?

Not sure Annie Aldington's performance suited the characters entirely.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

IGood story, although some rather nasty graphic details of slaughter. And the culprit was somewhat obvious.

Any additional comments?

The written preview had nothing to do with the actual story, so assume that there was a mistake by Audible.
