Amazing

An amazing book. This book will give you all the information that you need to start foraging wherever you are. Whether in the city or in the back woods, he covers them all. It's also great is that he gives his personal stories about each of the plants while telling all the information you need to know about them. I would recommend this to anyone who likes listening to storytellers and becoming more away of the world around them.

I love this book! The pictures are great, and it includes plants over a really wide geographic range so no matter where you live in the US, you can find something in this book in your area.

BEST Book for a Beginner

This is the best book for a beginner. this book shows you how to store, prepare and harvest on top of showing you how to identify plants. this book has some depth to it. He describes the plant very well with added pictures for confirmation, he'll show you look alike plants so you don't get mixed up, he shows you what part of the plant you can eat, how to prepare it, how to harvest it, and some of his personal stories which make the book light and fun to read. he doesn't discuss very many plants but you will know EVERYTHING about the plants he does discuss. this is very important for beginners like me to build confidence in knowing that what your going to eat is actually what you think it is.

This is the one you want

fantastic book. It's basically a home-study course in foraging. The author is extremely knowledgeable and writes everything from his own experience - or explicitly cites his source (it's mostly his own knowledge though). He points out that many popular books on edible plants have obvious and even dangerous inaccuracies that reveal their author's inexperience with that plant. He also includes a list of some recommended reading at the end to help you sort out accurate from inaccurate books and to guide you in furthering your education on wild food.

Excellent book if you're looking to begin forragin

Excellent book if you're looking to begin foraging. With all the fake crap on the internet it's nice to have a book in hand written by someone who actually knows their stuff. A friend of mine has actually gone to seminars by the author and he couldn't recommend him enough. Plus, you'll have a leg up on everyone else and be able to live off the land when society collapses.

I love that this book has tons of great advice and knowledge on the plants. Not just what they look like but their stages of growth and what parts you need to harvest and when! Plus how to prepare what you harvested!

More Than a Field Guide

My daughter recommended this book, and it's everything she said it would be. This is no mere field guide. It is an experience-based guide, jam-packed with the author's observations about what to do and not do in finding, preparing, and eating wild edibles.

A must have

I am truly enjoying this book, recommended to me by a friend. I enjoy learning more about plants and to learn that many of the "weeds" growing in my yard are edible and useful is quite fun. This is the best identification resource I have ever found, with good photos and excellent descriptions.Detailed descriptions and pictures. Easy to know what is what
