Great beginner flute book!

Great beginner flute book. I don't know how to read music, and have never touched a flute in my life. I feel like this book is really easy to use and essentially holds your hand.

I really like how it slowly introduces different notes and incorporates them into easy to play songs. I only take lessons once a week, but this book makes it easy to start on the next lesson before class begins.

This will help the student focus

This will help the student focus on the unique qualities of their instruments. Also it is packaged with all the necessary materials that are very helpful to both teacher and students. It facilitates effective teaching and learning process thereby developing great flute playing skills in students.

This book comes with songs that are well known and some helpful exercises that are designed and arranged for classroom learning. In addition to that, the book features various exercises that are instrument-specific.

This Author teaches very beginning concepts

This Author teaches very beginning concepts such as how to hold the flute, make and sound, music notation and reading beginning rhythms. What's nice about this book is it covers basic techniques like finger exercises and scale work in an interesting way so that it can be used by more advanced students.

The exercises are short and easy to complete between lessons insuring the student's do not get bored drilling the same lines for weeks. As a teacher, I highly recommend this book to other flute teachers and music educators.

This book would probably pair well with a flute

This book would probably pair well with a flute instructor expounding on what the book introduces, but may not provide enough detail if you are trying to learn the flute on your own. If that's you I would suggest checking YouTube as there are great introductory flute lessons that provide the visual and detail you need to learn some of the core basic concepts.

This is an excellent flute for beginners. The Essential element flute book is painstakingly structured to help young ones achieve their dreams of becoming an excellent flutist. This flute book contains all that a learner needs to become an expert flutist. Also, the Essential element flute book comes with numerous fantastic features that make it worth buying.

Very detailed

I am an adult learner and am trying to teach myself from videos and books. I initially started off with a different beginner flute book and after a couple of weeks felt I was stuck, not being able to progress with my tone. I've only had this book for a few days but already I feel like my tone is improving on the lower register. This book is packed with lots of different music to practice with and they are enjoyable to learn.

There are fingering charts for each new note to go along with the music. I am enjoying my flute again after feeling very frustrated. Music theory is introduced really gradually: i.e. a note like B is first introduced; it is shown written on the stage; it's then shown with the fingering which is well described. It starts speaking on tone and proposes to exercise this.

This is an excellent flute book to consider buying. It is properly outlined to help beginners learn easily and fast. The Ned Bennett absolute Beginners Flute employs uses picture illustrations to help you through the first exercise to the stage where you will be able to play along with a backing track. This great flute book is perfect for all ages; students will enjoy its easy-to-follow and straightforward pictorial representation.

This is a very progressive book. It doesn't have a DVD, but the explanations on the flute itself, How to assemble it, hold it are good. This is another highlight for me!

This is another highlight for me, what I did, I played the music from the sheet music by myself first, then listened to the flute player on the recording if I got all notes, etc right. Then I practiced with the backing until I was happy with it.

I can highly recommend this book to all beginners and restarters. I would also suggest to download a metronome app to your mobile for the other pieces that are not included on the cd if you learn to play the flute without a live tutor. By the end of this book all aspects of my flute playing improved.

Wonderful book to use with a beginner! My daughter picked it up, started reading and blew them away at band tryouts! I would highly recommend this book for young children wanting to learn!
