Publisher's Summary

A brand-new romantic comedy from New York Times best seller Tessa Bailey!

Georgette Castle’s family runs the best home renovation business in town, but she picked balloons instead of blueprints, and they haven’t taken her seriously since. Frankly, she’s over it. Georgie loves planning children’s birthday parties and making people laugh, just not at her own expense. She’s determined to fix herself up into a woman of the world...whatever that means.

Phase one: new framework for her business (a website from this decade, perhaps?)

Phase two: a gut-reno on her wardrobe (FYI, leggings are pants.)

Phase three: updates to her exterior (do people still wax?)

Phase four: put herself on the market (and stop crushing on Travis Ford!)

Living her best life means facing the truth: Georgie hasn’t been on a date since, well, ever. Nobody’s asking the town clown out for a night of hot sex, that’s for sure. Maybe if people think she’s having a steamy love affair, they’ll acknowledge she’s not just the “little sister” who paints faces for a living. And who better to help demolish that image than the resident sports star and tabloid favorite?

Travis Ford was Major League Baseball’s hottest rookie when an injury ended his career. Now, he’s flipping houses to keep busy and trying to forget his glory days. But he can’t even cross the street without someone recapping his greatest hits. Or making a joke about his...bat. And then there's Georgie, his best friend’s sister, who is not a kid anymore. When she proposes a wild scheme - that they pretend to date, to shock her family and help him land a new job - he agrees. What’s the harm? It’s not like it’s real.

But the girl Travis used to tease is now a funny, full-of-life woman, and there’s nothing fake about how much he wants her....

Really enjoyed it

Okay, I love this author, so reading this book was a no brainer. But did you get the fake relationship part in that blurb? With an unrequited crush? Oh, yes, I needed to read this one. AND I wasn't disappointed.

Their families are friends. Georgie grew up with a huge crush on Travis. But he only sees her as his best friends little sister. So when it's Georgie that throws food, yes I said food, at his sorry behind to get his head on straight, Travis takes notice. That's the point where their friendship begins. I loved that the book didn't bounce right into a fake relationship. No, they became friends first. That made the set-up perfection. It didn't take over the story at all. It was just a small piece. Loved that.

The characters really drew me. I'm interested in all of them and can't wait for more stories from this group of friends. I loved how they supported and cared for each other. But I will admit that the best part of the characters in this group was Travis. There is one scene where he stands up for Georgie to her family. I was cheering him on. Go Travis! He was spot on with the way they dismissed her idea because they saw her as young and not a part of the adults in the room. I loved this better than the group meetings, the apology latte, the wardrobe makeover, and the tear stained face make-up job. Lots of caring in this book.

Travis is one sexy baseball player. And the attraction between them starts quickly. As Travis begins to notice what's under that ball cap Georgie has on, he's definitely interested. But she is his best friends little sister. So he resists. I love a guy resisting. It's so much fun to watch. And when he quit resisting? That was HOT.

The pace of the book and the writing are awesome. I just didn't want to put it down. The story pulled me in and held me there. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next until....okay there was this point. I'll admit that when "the mistake" was made and I cringed, I was flipping to the end, just to quickly check. Yeah, it was good, so I could go back and read some more. I don't feel bad that I did this. It just means that I was so invested in these characters that I couldn't stand the idea of them not getting a happy.

There is more coming and I have questions. There is a flip I want details about. There is a relationship that I need to know what happens next with. There is a sister that I need to know about. And more. I'll be waiting for more.

The read is incredibly good contemporary romance with that excellent side of chic lit to make it better.

25% adorable love story 75% explicit sex talk

This book feels like such a bait and switch. At some moments it’s this sweet, cute love story between a girl no one takes seriously and a washed up baseball player wallowing in his rejection. It’s got all the fun tropes: brother’s best friend/best friend’s little sister, celebrity crush, childhood crush, famous guy/loser girl, fake relationship, and so on. I loved the Just Us League too. BUT when it switched to all this dirty talk and explicit sex scenes, it robbed the story for me. I wanted to love this. But I just can’t recommend it.

New writer worth a credit and more!

Fantastic new writer, with amazing wit and humor.!! Fabulous characters, with real issues, and awesome sexiness enhanced for our reading pleasure.!! I’m waiting for the next one, Hopefully a series is starting.!! The narrator was also new, but enjoyable to listen and always understood which character she was, will keep my eyes out for other work she has done as well.

I’m left craving more

This book is definitely One of Tessa’s best it’s hot and sweet so sweet I think I have a cavity. It’s light and fluffy but deals with so many issues about self worth and self esteem and how people view themselves vs how others see them.

I nearly cried watching the minutes tick by because I wanted so very much for this to never end. It deserves a hundred stars but 5 will have to do

Not clowning around, this book is wonderful!

A childhood crush meets crushed dreams meets crushed ideas for grownup relationships. I loved everything about this story! Written with humor and feelings, realistic family dynamics, both good and bad. Hot!Hot!Hot sex but enough feels to keep it from being ridiculous. Perfectly narrated and enough questions about the other characters that I’m hoping for books about the Just Us League
women to come!

Not what I expected

I really liked the beginning of this book, I liked the story, I liked the characters....until.... I like a good racy romance as much as the next girl but this went from racy to straight up porn. I didn’t finish it.

Needed an epilogue!!!

It was perfect! Absolutely perfect until the moment it needed without an epilogue. I needed more of them after. I needed a “6 month’s later” or anything that was after the freeway. Ughhhhh I’m so frustrated! It was a beautiful story but i felt it needed just a better tie up at the end. I feel unsatisfied.

Really steamy!

This was a good story. I enjoyed the characters and
the love scenes did not disappoint. I will say by the 50th time Travis called Georgie “baby girl” I was ready to scream. Pet names agitate me, especially if used too often. And they beat that one to death! That’s my only complaint. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys books like “The Hating Game!”

Brothers best friend sports romance

Tessa Bailey in all her dirty talking glory is back at it with Fix Her Up! I enjoyed every bit of Georgie and Travis’ story. A brothers best friend/sport romance that hits all the mega points.

Georgie wanting her family and friends to finally take her seriously decides to pretend date her brother best friend slash mega sports star slash mega MEGA playboy. Except there’s nothing pretend about Georgie’s lifelong crush on Travis and if the only way she can have him is to pretend date him... what could possibly go wrong there, right!? 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Fix Her Up

I enjoyed this book until it was over. I was not a fan of the way it ended. It left me with unanswered questions about the rest of the Just-Us League. I’m glad Georgie and Travis got their HEA but what about the other girls? I want there to be an extended ending or even a sequel.

She does it again

I’ve listened to this one twice now as once just wasn’t enough. Tessa bailey has the hottest men who know what they are doing in life and the bedroom. Add in a good dash of humour and quirky females and you have a Tessa bailey book. This one was just as amazing as all the rest of her books

This book is just awful

I absolutely hated this book! it was so awful I couldn't even finish listening to it, a complete waste of money.
Throughout the book the main character whined that no one was treating her like a grownup and yet allowed her love interest to call her "baby girl" which is plain creepy under any circumstances, but he even does it during sex, so so gross!!! If that were me I would be worried I was in bed with a pedophile.
I found this book to be a total cringe fest and would highly recommend you stay away from it. I gave it one star, I was being generous.

Icky pet name ruins the story.

Pretty full on dirty talk combined with a questionable pet name ‘baby girl’ just kinda ruined it for me.
