London & Loic!

Opposites attract? A little angsty romance? Count me in! This is my first Ellie Wade book, and it's the perfect mix of flawed hearts and soulmates! Loic has had a tough life. Bad childhood, joined the military and now is out. His heart was scarred and he is not interested in love at all! That is until London catches his eye. London is a spoiled girl, and she knows it. Finding her way after college, she is used to getting her way, and now she has her eye on the prize. But will these two flawed people give love a chance? Loic is the kind of hero that I absolutely adore. He is broody and a little dark, but the light is still easy to see. London took a bit to like for me, as she is just that rich kid mold, until she breaks it! I enjoyed their story, the true feeling that love is the answer, that fate is real and true love always wins.

The narration of the emotionally filled story is spot on with narrators Krys Janae and Tom Haire. Janae encompasses all those feelings, bringing London's hurt and pain to the surface but never letting go of the love she had. Haire nails the personality of Loic, a bit pained, very moody and uncertain but thaws through the story. This team is fantastic and brought this book to life.

grow up London

I found London very spoiled, immature, and beyond bratty!!! I tried to like her and failed. Her "I hate you" repulsed me. Major turn off. What she called emotional, I called ignorant and bratty. No way did she deserve Loic's pinky finger let alone his heart. I'm hoping he wises up and has an a- ha moment in the next year!!!! He deserves an adult. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrators were good.

I enjoyed this!

This was a great angsty, slow burn story! London and Loic were a captivating couple. Their push and pull was great. Loic's story is very heartbreaking. I'm looking forward to seeing more growth from London in future books. The narrators Krys and Tom did an great job and really brought the story to life! I look forward to what's next!

It was OK!

Let me start off by saying I loved the narration! I thought they did a fantastic job with this story and characters! I liked the story a lot, I enjoyed Loic, I thought he showed major growth throughout the book and I enjoyed his character a lot! I wanted to like London so bad but it was hard. I felt that she would flip flop the whole book one min she is strong then she would be a total baby. I found her be very spoiled and bratty and not sure what Loic found appealing about her to be honest. I do want to continue the series and if there is more growth in London. Looking forward to what is next!

Captivating

Wow an amazing and captivating book! I fell in love with Loïc. My heart kept breaking as I was listening to his story and everything he went through. I did find London slightly annoying at times, but still loved seeing London and Loïc together. Narrators did an amazing job!

slow burn, very repetitive.. narrators bland

(Loic & London): RECEIVED THIS FREE ARC FOR AN HONEST REVIEW! Narrators make an extremely angsty and slow burning book seem boring and long winded. Loic, while understandable that he's had a hard life growing up, he's come out as very judgmental and cold. It makes him very unlikable to me. London, while it seems as though she's spoiled, it's that she's more free and open to life and hasn't had the same hardships or just doesn't dwell on them. Loic's backstory is very sad and it seems he'll never come out of the dark hole he's dug himself. The story never picked up, still extremely slow and repetitive and the more it went on the more I began to dislike the characters. London is very weak and Loic is completely clueless and don't even get me started on "Sarah" the friend/ "sister" Loic had while they were homeless. And of course the book is a cliffhanger, continuing over the next three books. I'm curious about what'll happen next so maybe I'll just grab it on Kindle and see if I can get through it. Here's to second chances.
