Publisher's Summary

It was a killer party.

Caro Lamont, Laguna Beach's favorite pet therapist, is thrilled to support the elite fundraising gala for Greys Matter, a SoCal greyhound rescue group. All the guests in the couture-attired crowd are clad in varying shades of grey, the champagne and donations are flowing, and there are 50 gorgeous greyhounds in attendance. But before the evening ends, a stranger in their midst is dead.

Caro sets out to help the rescue group find the identity of the mystery guest but soon finds herself in the doghouse with homicide detective, Judd Malone - oh, and federal agent, John Milner. When there's a second death, Caro is convinced she's on the track of someone who wants a secret to stay buried, but it's a race to see whether Caro can uncover the truth before the killer decides she's next.

So Much Drama

I'm required by law to state that I received a free copy of this audio book in exchange for my unbiased review. I was drawn to this book because I like me a good cozy mystery and the title was cute. I tried really hard to like it but I struggled so much to get through it that I eventually gave up. There was so much drama, the characters felt more like angsty teenagers than adults, and the storyline kinda got lost in the mix. I'm sorry, I really wanted to like this but angsty adults are just not my thing.

Cute, Light and Fun

This is the first Pampered Pets Mystery I've listened to. I would definitely listen to another. I really enjoyed the fun pet facts sprinkled throughout the story. You can tell the author has a definite appreciation for dogs. I thought the story played out very well. I honestly didn't know who was the culprit until the very end. Just the way I like it! The characters/cast was just the right number and there was a nice variety. Narrator Evelyn Marcail did a nice job handling both female and male voices. She didn't over perform and always kept me in the story. This made for a fun listen. Nice job! I like how the story is set to make you want to come back for more. This story can be listened to without knowledge of the first 4 books. The author gives you enough information to keep the story going, and invites the listener to go back and listen to the previous stories to fully appreciate back stories. I was given a free copy of this audiobook by the author. My views are my own and left voluntarily. Mature Content: none

Cute Cozy Mystery with Puppies

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I loved that I didn't have to read the other books before this one. The main character was such a relatable character. I loved the story and the narrator. I would read the ones before this one and any after.

Bow-Wow-Wow!

"I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review." Funny, light book, no real surprises (sad) and a lot of pooches! If you like tall, sexy redheads, this is your book! Don';t expect any character development though, its a fun ride but no real depth.

Fifty Shades of Greyhound

I listened to Fifty Shades of Greyhound without having listened to any of the prior books in the series. While I’m sure knowing the history of the characters would have helped, I had no problems understanding this story. This was an enjoyable cozy mystery. I will certainly be looking at more books by the author and narrator! I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Great fashions

amateur-sleuth, pets, dogs, murder-investigation California glitz goes to the dogs. The first murder happened at a big money fundraiser for retired greyhounds, and Caro was really on the scene this time. She starts sleuthing the very next day to prove that the easy answer is not always the right one. If you enjoy fashion descriptions you'll love this book! Evelyn Marcial does a great narration, perky without gushing. I normally listen at faster than standard speed, and lost nothing by doing so. I entered a giveaway and won this audiobook from BelleBooks. I win!

Clever tribute to greyhounds

What I liked most: -Lots details about greyhounds and the compassionate people who rescue and care for them. -Very clever title. -Simple story that is best suited for young adults. What I did not enjoy: -Narrator voice was robotic and slow. I tried listening to it on a faster speed. But, that only made the voice more robotic. -Unrealistic representation of the amount of funds needed to run a pet rescue. -Distracting details about what clothing everyone is wearing. Adds no value to the book. -I found the plot to be too simplistic and predictable. Disclaimer: Received this title for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

Nothing grey and boring about this book.

This is the first book by this author I have read or listened to but I enjoyed it, so it won't be the last. This is book five and you don't need to to have read any of the other stories to enjoy it. Having said that it might have helped at the start because the main character is at a party and you are introduced to a lot of characters at once which did get a bit much keeping them straight but as the story unfolds you soon catch up. The characters are fun and you also get a lot of fun and interesting facts about dogs. The mystery was good and with plenty of suspects it kept you guessing. It is a series I will be looking out for again. Caro is attending a fund raising event for greyhounds and with owners and pets all attending something is bound to go wrong with a rabbit at the party but the party really grounds to a halt when someone is murdered. The president of the fund raiser hires Caro in her capacity as a pet therapist just in case any of the poor dogs are suffering from the trauma. By doing this she also has to talk to each of the owners and the one thing they all want to talk about is the murder but as nobody know who the victim is it proves difficult to find a reason for the death. Then somebody else dies leaving a suicide note and two greyhounds. Caro doesn't believe the owner would killer herself or at least do it without providing for her dogs first, so she sets out to find out what is going on with the greyhound trust before the situation becomes any greyer. The narrator was okay. She did have a real twang that took a while to get use to but she did do a number of good voices for the characters.
