Publisher's summary

Raise one last glass with the Quinn family at the Winter Street Inn.

It's been too long since the entire Quinn family has been able to celebrate the holidays under the same roof, but that's about to change. With Bart back safe and sound from Afghanistan, the Quinns are preparing for a holiday more joyous than any they've experienced in years. And Bart's safe return isn't the family's only good news: Kevin is enjoying married life with Isabelle; Patrick is getting back on his feet after paying his debt to society; Ava thinks she's finally found the love of her life; and Kelly is thrilled to see his family reunited at last. But it just wouldn't be a Quinn family gathering if things went smoothly. A celebration of everything we love - and some of the things we endure - about the holidays, Winter Solstice is Elin Hilderbrand at her festive best.

It’s all about Margaret

This one really felt like a money grab...about 20% actual the story, the rest just filler...a chunk of which didn’t even involve the Quinn family. I will only be back if the next one’s a prequel, Margaret and Kelly: the Early Years

Enjoyable tradition

I enjoy listening to or reading these books during the holiday season. I don’t personally like this reader’s voice that much but I loved the book fine. Light and kept my attention.

Bad ending

If this is how the series ends, I am very much disappointed. It’s very depressing.

Not as good ...

This is the last / newest book in this series and a bit of a disappointment. It does try to wrap everything up, but it's a bit boring and sad that it just ends the way it does. Maybe Elin has a follow up planned, but the 4 books in the series were maybe 6 hours each and all expensive for how short they were. The 4 book series could easily have been 1 to 2 books.

Not very good

I’ve read most of Elin Hildebrand’s books but recently have noticed way too much descriptions. I feel she is just trying to fill pages. For instances in this book she describes the taco bars toppings, the ingredients in the recipes for Thanksgiving Day, the order of the seating at the table etc. she also describes the going out outfit down to the Jimmy Choo shoes. I quite frankly would like a little more substance in the book

Shallow

I just couldn't get over how shallow the characters were. How reliant on men. How obsessed with having money - not comfortable middle-class money, but true crazy wealth. I didn't care about any of them except Kelly, and we barely get to hear from him. Was glad when this one was over. The narrator was great though!

Nice Closure!

This book really tied things up. I love the story of the Quinn family. And as always, Erin Bennett is the perfect narrator for Hilderbrand!

Great Book by Elin Hilderbrand

Family drama with some laughs and fun and tragedy. It's a bit melancholy at the end but it's a good book like all of this authors books.
