Publisher's Summary

The ties between women can run as deep as the ocean - but so can the secrets.

For 20 years, Kayla, Antoinette, and Val have performed their own special summer ritual. Once a year, the old friends put aside their daily, separate lives to drink champagne, swap stories, and swim naked under the Nantucket stars. But on one of those bonding nights, one of their trio swims out from the shore and doesn't return. After the surviving friends emerge from their grief, they realize that the repercussions of their loss go far beyond their little circle, and they begin to uncover layers of secrets - and their connections to each other - that were never revealed on the beach. What has made their friendship strong now has the power to destroy - their marriages, families, even themselves.

Desperate

I don’t give bad reviews, but I spent $25 on this audiobook and it was the worst Elin book I’ve gotten. The entire book was whiney and desperate- nothing captivating or romantic. Just pure depression. I really enjoy this author but this book was awful. The performance was good- I do enjoy this narrator.

Thumbs Down multiple times!

Horrible, ridiculous, and disgraceful - plot, concepts, meaning. This was sickening on so many levels. Worst book ever by Elin. Makes me question remaining a fan.

My least favorite

This was my least favorite book of all of Hilderbrands. The story was way over the top and at times implausible. All the characters, especially the main character were too needy, insecure and dramatic. The ending was a complete disappointment and unbelievable.

True life delimas

I liked the fact that the story was about imperfect, selfish and at times down right mean people, this was not a pretty fairy tail tied up with a bow, and if you are human and live on planet earth you should be able to relate, it touched a lot of emotions, mad, sad, outraged and disgusted, but haven't we all felt that way about people in our lives or on behalf of someone going through drama. What I didn't care for is the narrator's voice adaption for Antoinette, she made her sound like Isaac Hayes

Very depressing book

While interesting, the problems this family faces are extremely far fetched. Their respective actions and dialogues were perpetually depressing, negative and just a total downer. Finishing the book because I paid for it.
