There really isn't much too say. I am really into zombie at the moment, but going into this book I wasn't being too picky. I liked the idea of a father/husband trying to make his way to his family. This story was just really hard to get into. Most of it was over the top, even for a zombie book. There is quite a bit of inconsistencies in the story. It's as if the author couldn't make up his mind if he wanted there to be mass hysteria or for everyone to be oblivious to the seriousness of the situation going on. In addition to that, problems that the characters faced throughout the story didn't feel very thought out. Too many people were coming and going, and I didn't develop a fondness for anyone. I usually don't like books from this genre because I get frustrated that the characters make dumb decisions or the story lacks logic. In this case it just wasn't a good book. I hate to say it but I think I've
ran out of decent zombie books.

Relatable characters, this book kept me in suspense. Can't wait to start book number 2.
If you could sum up The Infected: Jim's First Day in three words, what would they be?
Non Stop Action
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jim was my favorite character. Loved how he stayed calm and collected when the world was going to hell all around him.
Which scene was your favorite?
My favorite part was probably when they ran into the crazy church group. Holy Cow.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
If I could have, I would have.
Any additional comments?
Excellent all around.
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
Someone that is just learning to read. I don't think that this author has ever written a book before, at least it sure "read" like he hasn't. Phrasing is poor, descriptions are lack luster and it comes across more juvenile than a 12 year old boy looking at porn for the first time. Plus the narrator leaves much to be desired. No inflection, same voice for all the characters, and really bad reading skills.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Nothing by this author or this narrator.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Steve Rausch?
Scott Brick, but then again he has standards..............like reading books by someone that actually knows how to write them.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Infected: Jim's First Day?
The whole book
Any additional comments?
Don't bother. Not worth the credit or your time.
