Publisher's summary

First in the new Silver Valley series from the New York Times best-selling author of the Reapers Motorcycle Club Novels.

Fourteen months. For fourteen months, Puck Redhouse sat in a cell and kept his mouth shut, protecting the Silver Bastards MC from their enemies. Then he was free and it was time for his reward - full membership in the club, along with a party to celebrate. That’s when he saw Becca Jones for the first time and set everything in motion. Before the night ended he’d violated his parole and stolen her away from everything she knew.

Five years. It was five years ago that Puck destroyed Becca and saved her all in one night. She’s been terrified of him ever since, but she’s even more terrified of the monsters he still protects her from...But Becca refuses to let fear control her. She’s living her life and moving forward, until she gets a phone call from the past she can't ignore. She has to go back, and there’s only one man she can trust to go with her - the ex-con biker who rescued her once before.

Puck will help her again, but this time it’ll be on his terms. No more lies, no more tears, and no more holding back what he really wants...

This edition only: A new Silver Valley story.

GREAT SPIN-OFF FROM HER REAPERS MC SERIES

If you're looking for a hard-hitting raw MC listen then this is it.... but with "you're mine" romance too that turned out to be quite sweet underneath the whole bad-ass exterior. Great start to her new series of Biker Bastards.

Becca wasn't in a good place when Puck found her and rescued her but it took 5 years before they finally talked properly to each other again and then their sexual chemistry took over but Becca was an independent woman who didn't want to be an old lady because it brought back too many dark memories of her past life. And that past life was coming back to haunt her life now with blackmail, betrayal and ultimatums and Becca could only rely on herself to get out of this mess..... which proved to be a very bad idea.

Rival biker gangs, clubhouse business, old ladies, death threats, a murder or two, twists, raw no holes barred frenzied sex scenes, biker talk, heated passionate scenes and a romance - biker style. Told from dual POV's, good narration and HEA Epilogue.

Worth a credit? I loved it, was caught up in every delicious scene and yes, IMO creditworthy (as long as you know what you're getting - slutty alpha males, angst, abuse, strong heroine, action, suspense, steamy sex and a very unconventional romance).

Good but not the best

There is something about JW's book that is an auto download for me. I mean I will even put up with crappy narration because her books are just that great.

This is the story of Puck and his property Bex. If you have been following the Reapers Series that you have some idea of who he is. In my opinion this book was just good enough... not awful though I have one particular scene that was truly a turn off in this book but that minor disruption did not take away from the book overall.

The story begins with the celebration of Puck & Painter's release from prison. It is during this event that Puck meets and falls for Becca. After a night to remember - both please & heartbreaking pain - well things go from worse to s*t by the time morning rolls around.

Flash forward 5 years with these 2 dancing around each other because Puck feels like crap for what he did to and what happened to Becca as well as Becca's fear (well justified fear) of Puck and MCs in general JW finally kicks in the romance we know and love!

I don't think I could ever think that a borderline asshole of a guy and a borderline mental girl could ever make things work but I now know better! Thanks to JW.... Unlike her other series this was a tame version of her usual style. Still enjoyable and great glimpses at other characters that may have their books. The bonus was AFTER the epilogue... Now that is a book I would love to read if JW decides to write one...

The narration was not the greatest but still okay enough to make it to the end.

Definitely worth a credit..and definately to no pass it!

ARRRRGGGHHHH!!

Becca is a whiny little bitch I wanted to shoot her in the head myself she made so many stupid blunders one after the other and the whole I want Puck I don't want Puck back and forth over and over made me want to throw up with its weak pointless plot line stupid boring characters the men are SoA wannabe's and the women are just worthless the only redeeming people in this book were Blake and Danielle please do yourself a favor do not waste your credit I had hope the author had improved since her Reaper series but nope just more of the same dribble

Good Biker Story

I'm not even sure what to say about this book. Overall, it was relatively good---gritty and raw, like most MC stories. Was it my favorite Joanna Wylde book---No. I've enjoyed Wylde's other books much, much more. I was really into the beginning; things were interesting and dramatic pretty immediately, but then it floundered somewhat. I wasn't a fan of the female narrator; her over-dramatized narration was a bit much. And there were several moments where I wanted to scream at Becca for being just a hair too naïve for my tastes. The sex was hot for sure; Puck was totally that bad boy you just melted for because he's got that one sensitive spot for his woman. And this isn't a spoiler but, Becca's mom and her hubby get the A-hole award of the year, hands down.

I wanted this to be a 4-or 5-star, but, it just missed the mark for me somewhat. I'm still a fan of Joanna Wylde, and look forward to what's coming next.

Great start to a new series!

Yes, this book definitely met my expectations. Love Joanna Wylde books she creates the most delectable characters...hot, broody, dangerous, and the most important wild! Her writing always keeps me interested, and is not predictable. Something about bikers that make you long for that ride! Glad I got my own!!

This is an incredible start to a new series!

I was in for a wild ride with Silver Bastard: Silver Valley #1, by Joanna Wylde. I absolutely loved every moment and could not wait to find out what happened next. From start to finish, I was completely caught up in the twist and turns of the story line. I am new to Joanna Wylde as an author, but this will definitely not be my last book from her. In fact, after reading this I am immediately looking for more from the incredible world she has created.

When Becca was on only 15, Puck Redhouse change her world in more ways than she would ever imagine. Ever since, she can't seem to get him out of her mind. Even though she has moved to a small town in Idaho, has a steady job and a plan for her future, she has no idea what kind of hold he has over her.

The day Puck was released from jail, he met Becca. His entire world flipped upside down when he realized just who she was. He brought her to safety, but he hasn't been able to forget her. He has been biding his time until she was old enough to do something about this explainable draw he has towards her.

I was completely captivated by the world Joanna Wylde created in this story. I was caught up in each twist and turn, and burned through the pages. The spunky characters, combustible chemistry and suspense made me fall in love with this series. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next!

PS - The audio version was fantastic as well. Allyson Ryan and Johnathan McClain were new to me as narrators, but their incredible performance will encourage me to look at their other work as well. Their performance only enhanced Joanna Wylde's brilliance as an author.

Wylde MC Romance

Oh, Wylde does MC Romance good. The author infuses the right amount of grit, grime and dirt to create the most realistic MC stories on the market. She sets the bar in this genre so if you want to read this genre, you absolutely must try Wylde'so book. And on audio, it's an extra treat. Enjoy!

not as satisfying as the Reaper series

It was a very good story and I even liked the plot but it just did not draw me in as the Reaper series did. This book was a bit predictable. Still a good listen

Hooked

Wow. This is my first time reading a biker romance or any of Joanna Wylde's work and I was thoroughly impressed. I couldn't stop listening to this. It was just awesome.

Puck will steal you heart and frankly so will the narrator voicing him. Seriously, Johnathan McClain did a fantastic job. Puck is confident, sexy, and hilarious. My fav line: "Get those jeans DOWN! I want in! Now!"

Becca is lovable too, and so is Allyson Ryan...though she got on my nerves a little. But without her being stubborn, there would be no act 3, which was intense.

Worth a credit. Worth listening to twice.

What other book might you compare Silver Bastard to and why?

The Reapers, it's a kick-off from their story.

What does Allyson Ryan and Johnathan McClain bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They were good together. They got into the characters.
