Publisher's summary

Kerensa Trelynne's plans to wed her sweetheart, Clem Trenchard, are ruined when Sir Oliver Pengarron makes her grandfather, and guardian, an offer for Trelynne Cove - the land on which Old Tom's cottage stands. Old Tom is wily, and to ensure a secure and stable future for his precious granddaughter, he makes her part of the price for the Cove: Sir Oliver must marry Kerensa.

Pengarron is horrified but, pragmatic to the last, agrees to the deal, and the distraught Kerensa has to learn to live with the consequences of an unwanted marriage. As the months pass, they begin to trust one another. But will she ever forget the old loyalties that linger?

great series

I listened to Pengarron Land on just a whim for I love historical fiction and this time setting.

I fell in love with the characters and their love triangle and couldn't wait to listen to the rest of the series. I was not disappointed on how it ended and it really showed how choices in ones life can change the fate of one family for generations. I did think overall it had a lot of emphasis on sex and that a little more depth of the characters would have been nice without so much dwelling on their lust. The reader was great and very believeable for each character man or woman. Don't start Pengarron Land unless you want to hear all 4 books and then you will be lost in the 1750's for many hours.

A good listen

This is the first in the Pengarron series and I enjoyed it immensly. An interesting story full of romance and adventure, set in beautiful Cormwall.
I look forward to listening to all in the series which fortunately for me, Audible has purchased.
The reader, Patricia Gallimore is excellent.
