Sophie knows she should count herself lucky when she finds herself catapulted into the A-list after the surprise hit of a budget movie, but she just wishes she could be a proper actress, in proper, serious films.
As Sophie’s career begins to decline her fate seems to be entwined with that of her favourite actress, Eve Noel: the epitome of 50s Hollywood glamour…
What would have made Not Without You better?
Sadly the audio quality of this book was so poor that I could not understand what was being said by the narrator. I love Harriet Evans books and have never had a dud with Audible before. I even checked my MP3 player thinking it was a problem with my equipment, but other Audible books play with no problem. It is particularly bad when the narrator puts on an accent - the audio is fast and incomprehensible.
I would suggest reading this book rather than listening to it and hope that if this book is re-recorded that I will get the chance to listen to it again.
Would you ever listen to anything by Harriet Evans again?
Yes - love her books
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Couldn't understand most of what was said. The narrator read very fast and when she put on the different accents the recording was impossible to hear clearly to make head or tail of the story.
