Publisher's Summary
When Claire sees Hannah Wilson at an exclusive Manhattan hair salon, it's like a knife slicing through barely healed scars. It may have been 10 years since Claire last saw Hannah, but she has thought of her every day, and not in a good way. So Claire does what anyone would do in her position - she stalks her.
Hannah is now Mrs. Carter, living the charmed life that should have been Claire's. It's the life Claire used to have before Hannah came along and took it all away from her.
Back then, Claire was a happy teenager with porcelain skin and long blond wavy hair. Now she's an overweight, lazy drunk with hair the color of compost and skin to match. And that’s why when Hannah advertises for a housekeeper, Claire is confident she can apply and not be recognized - especially since she has time on her hands, revenge on her mind, and a talent for acting....
What better way to seek retribution - and redress - than from within the beautiful Mrs. Hannah Carter's own home?
But it's not just Claire who has secrets. Everyone in that house seems to have something to hide.
And now, there's no way out.

Best Psych Thriller EVER Until the Last Two Hours
I listened to this book in one day. The narrator was excellent and the story was so interesting that I carried my phone with me everywhere. There is a jaw-dropping “Whoa”!, which is my favorite part of every book, but then it seems like the author explained everything in a rush (that actually lasted an hour and a half). The explanations and other “reveals “ had me rolling my eyes quite often. I gave it 4 stars because it is 80% great and 20 I just need to hear the end. I’ll still check out more books by this author and narrator.

Twisted, Fun, and Surprising!
NO SPOILERS! I listen to a ton of psychological thrillers and listened to this with low expectations, but it held my attention right from the beginning. Often times books say there are many twists, but I often see them early on. This book however, actually does have some great twists and it’s well thought out. This was a true psychological thriller and I recommend it to anyone that enjoys the genre. The narrator was good however her voice didn’t fit the main character. Regardless, it was an enjoyable listen.

Narrator mismatch really distracts from the story
Narrator mismatch (early 20s character, 45-50 narrator) really distracts from the story. There was no effort in trying to make the voice match the main characters, as it did with the other characters in the story.

Worth the credit
I really liked this book. It kept me interested and wanting to know what happened next. I listened to it all in one day. The only thing I will say that was a negative was their choice of narrator. She performed it very well but I don’t think he voice was well suited for the story. She had a very mature voice and the main character was 24 years old. It was hard for me to picture her that young while I was listening due to the more mature voice narrating. I wish they had chosen someone more age appropriate. Otherwise great story!

This is what excellent narration can do. Yes, good story right from the start. I kind of figured out where it was going but the journey was still fascinating. The narration was absolutely stellar. Don't miss this one. Natalie Barelli has never disappointed me.

Good twist but a little slow to get into
it took a while for the story to pull me in one thing that kept throwing me was the voice of the reader seems too mature to be playing a 24 yr old and the voices of the other characters didn't sound that great either. all that aside once I got into it I enjoyed the story and the plot twist was great.

Ravishing Appetite for this plate of Suspense.
The story was so well crafted and left me on the edge of my seat throughout! I binge listened, trying to predict a totally unpredictable ending! This is my first introduction to the author and will not be the last! Her first-person voice is amazing; I had to keep looking over my shoulder to make sure she wasn't in the same room as me. This author knows how to connect with her readers. The Narrator was one of the best I've ever heard. I would highly recommend this book!

I don't often write reviews (too tired and too meh about most books I seem to choose) but this one was a real page turner (or the Audible equivalent anyway). Characters are well-developed, excellent storyline, and the narrator is phenomenally talented.

Awful narrator
The narrator was really bad for this role. The book is based around a woman in her 20’s but sounds 55, all the women sound annoying. The book really isn’t that great, and none of the characters are likeable. I don’t understand the high praise, perhaps if you’ve never read a book in this genre before you’ll be impressed but if you’re someone who hates inconsistencies or whiny women this isn’t the book for you.

Brilliant!!
Loved this book. Full of twists, well written, intriguing and interesting throughout. This would make a great film or TV series. Great narrator, the only criticism I would make is that the character she was portraying was only supposed to be 24yrs old but the narrator sounded much older. A great listen! Definitely recommended

Twisty and a change from the usual
Really enjoyed this book, but took a few chapters to get into it properly. Easy to listen to whilst doing other things and got through the book quickly as a result. Plot and character good and twisty turns along the way. I liked the narrator, could easily determine which character was which and her voice was good to listen to. Will look for more by both author and narrator in future.
