Timothy Gandy has kept his lifetime's ambition secret for 40 years. Now, suddenly (if tragically) released from the henpecked tedium of his ordinary existence, he is unexpectedly free to realize his dreams. He will embark on a grand tour of Europe, following in the footsteps of the aristocrats of the 18th century. He anticipates high art, culture and pleasant weather. He never expects to encounter new friendships - and possibly even love - along the way.
It seems that Mr Gandy has embarked on the journey of a lifetime....
A simple story of man, beautiful vulnerability in recognisable characters.
Simplistic, without being contrite

loved it beautiful story enjoyed it emencley well told looking forward to reading another soon
I loved the story right from the start. I wanted to know what was going to happen next all the way through. Lovely
Predictable, an easy listen on holiday. Alan improves with every book, could be a flash back for some
A feel good story about life after loss. Beautifully written and read by the author.
I love Alan's books, but this one was amazing - the best one in my opinion! A love story & adventure rolled into a fantastic travel guide, this story totally gripped me & I wanted to have the heart to go on these adventures. A true escapism that I will treasure.
I chose the ratings of 3 stars as I found it quite boring !! Nice story but just nice being the operative word, nothing special , others Might enjoy more than me , but there was no humour fun or excitement with the story ...I would not recommend to my friends
a beautifully read story, interestingly put together. There is laughter and tears. Great depth to the characters.
