Bass Reeves' life was used for Gunsmoke's hero
The man and the real hero of the west, Bass Reeves! His real life exploits can be seen in Matt Dillion (Gunsmoke) and Wild Wild West. Give a listen and you will want more. I did, I even went to see his statue...totally awesome!
