Publisher's Summary

When trying to save a woman from slavers, Sam screwed up. Royally. Now Linda wants nothing to do with him. Or with BDSM. She won't even admit she's a masochist. As a dominant and sadist, he can give her what she needs, and when an opportunity arises he slips into her life, intending to make amends. She's everything he knew she would be...except for her bullheaded determination to be "normal".

Now that the horrible time is past, Linda just wants to return to her small conservative town, pick up her quiet life, and be normal. But how can someone who likes pain be "normal"? To her dismay, when someone spray-paints her home with obscenities, Sam shows up to rescue her. Again. Doesn't he understand that the last thing she needs in her life is a sadist? He's amused by her objections. But his dry sense of humor doesn't disguise that he's tough as nails and dominant and stubborn. He's not going to let her drive him off this time. All too soon she realizes she wants him to stay.

When he takes her to the Shadowlands, she finds a new home. Until she hears a voice from out of her nightmares....

I can't get enough of this series!

This is one of the best BDSM series out there. The characters are amazing and have incredible personalities. The only thing I found negative is Master Sam saying G** Dam all the time. Personally I find that more offensive than the word Fuck. I know it's writers choice but I really detest someone using my Lords name in vain.
Cherise truly I love all of your stories. You are most talented. I'm looking forward to more on audible. While I wait I will read them on kindle.

I was worried, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought

I was originally going to skip this book, because the whole sadomasochism and sadist story line isn’t working for me. I’m also not a fan of rape storylines and I know this storyline is a continuation. After reading s9me of the reviews, I figured, I’d give it a try.

It wasn’t as bad as I thought. There were one or two sexy scenes I skipped through because I felt uncomfortable with the sex play, but overall, it wasn’t bad.

I had to keep in mind that this is a fictional story thus h7man trafficking and all that goes with recovery wouldn’t be so quick as it was in this book. Linda was rescued from a h7man trafficking ring in part due to Sam keeping her occupied until the feds could raid the auction. They formed a connection, but Linda had to works through issues of who she was before and after her kidnapping before she could make any long lasting decisions. Sam wasn’t looking for a permanent relationship. After his disastrous marriage, the last thing he wants is another woman in his house. After rescuing Linda from the slavers, he finds that he needs to help her navigate some issues she’s having re-acclimating to her life. Once they’re finally coming together, they’re thrown some curveballs that make them reevaluate their budding relationship.

I enjoyed the book, but again, not one of my favorites. Listening to Linda, Sam, and their kids it was nice to see how having this lifestyle can still be happy and fulfilling for some. My only issues were how everyone seemed to forget that she was rescued from a human trafficking ring there may be others still at large..and more investigation should be done. To see her and Sam come through their issues was good to watch.

If you can get through the subject matter, it is a good book to read in the series.

Loved it!

Every book in the series is wonderfully written, weaving characters together to form a family of friends. Definitely made me wishful for such a circle of friends. Oh and as always, very hot

Hawt!

I laughed out loud at the scene where the girls were at Jessie's bachelorette party and kept on laughing! What a fun and entertaining listen.

What would have made This Is Who I Am better?

Better writing and narration needed. There was no connection for me. It had good reviews, but I can't see why. The lead characters were terrible, especially Linda. (for both the story and the narration. It was all about hitting and liking to be hit, not real story, no connection to the characters. It certainly was lacking in all aspects including what they call sex scenes. I did not feel any emotions from the characters.

Would you ever listen to anything by Cherise Sinclair again?

not if it is like this one

Would you be willing to try another one of Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard ’s performances?

Probably not Erin deWard, Noah wasn't as bad.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment with a capital D.

Sadism can be so sweet...lol

Love this look into Sam and Linda's relationship. While I cringed at nipple pinching...lol..I felt the relationship was tastefully done and very, very hot.
Noah was a terrific Sam and Erin did a credible Linda. If only she'd get that tremor out of her voice.😜

Noah and Erin are great!

I read this book when it first came out and enjoyed it. However, Noah and Erin brought the characters to life, and I found parts that I hadn't ever remembered in the reading of it. Cherise Sinclair is a wonderful writer, and I have read all her books. I have enjoyed Noah's narration of the previous books, but I think the addition of Erin to the female parts has made the experience even better. Master Sam and Linda have stolen my heart. Whoever thought that sadist could be so endearing and loveable?

A love story for an older couple! Gorgeous!!!

What did you like most about This Is Who I Am?

I love that this is an older couple who have already tried to live their lives to various degrees of success. Sam has been deeply hurt in a prior marriage as has his daughter , Linda had a great husband whom she loved but who also did not fulfill her (when she was honest with herself). This is Sam and Linda's story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of This Is Who I Am?

I can't say as it will give too much away but it involves Sam and his whip....not doing what you imagine with it either but it's toward the end to give you a hint!!!!

Have you listened to any of Noah Michael Levine and Erin deWard ’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Since I have listened to all of the other books in this series then yes! I loved this book as much as the others although I have to say that Marcus' and Raoul's stories are both firm favourites!!

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I had a range of emotional responses to this story. Anger at the slavers and their belief in how worthless a human life can be...yes I know this is a story but if you do not believe that human trafficking exists then your head is in the sand. I also felt heart-sore for Linda who struggled to be the perfect mother, business woman and refuse to give in to 'silly wants and desires that she didn't really need'. She felt she had to hold up to some level of social norm and make do. I also laughed at times but I don't want to give too much away by telling you when!!

Any additional comments?

Sam and Linda met in circumstances that were far from usual but nonetheless it is a beautiful story of love, respect, bravery and tenacity. Linda struggles with accepting her needs and the stigma associated with what she needs is horrendous. Just when she figures she knows what to expect, someone surprises her and shows tolerance and acceptance when she needs it most. This is a story of cruelty, bullies and love....who or what prevails? You'll have to listen to find out but I promise you will not be disappointed. I cannot wait for the rest of her books to be transferred into audio format...please hurry!!!!
