Publisher's summary

A landmark court ruling in Japan has stated that, since prostitution in their country is a business transaction, wives can't claim it as adultery. So why is this a big deal? Japanese wives are entitled to monetary compensation when their husbands have mistresses. Susie is torn about this: She's sympathetic to prostitutes being able to earn their livelihoods, but this does take power away from Japanese women. The court ruling was issued...yes, by a man.

Next, Susie looks at a new documentary just out on Netflix: Hot Girls Wanted. It's about amateur porn and who gets lured into the business. Susie thinks the program misses the big point of why girls get sucked in, which is that they want out of their small-town lives of sexual repression and economic depression. Going away to make it "big" in the movies - whether Hollywood or porn - has been the dream of many kids for a long time.

Then, it's "What's New on Audible". Susie has a great new audiobook that she can't wait to share with you: Crazy Brave: A Memoir by Joy Harjo, narrated by the author. Harjo is a leading Native American voice; here she tells us about her journey to becoming a poet. Her writing is grounded in tribal myth, ancestry, music, and poetry.

Yikes!

Oh my gosh. Eesh!

I have no idea what this woman’s actual opinions and views are, but I was so disturbed and put off by her tone and constant laughing while discussing these serious topics, I can’t handle listening to anything more from her. The content is interesting, but the way this woman laughs through it all is seriously disturbing. Yikes.
