Episode 6

I love crime books mainly fictional and I'm trying to get more into true crime books and some of these books sound really interesting!

An Inspired First

Story: 4-Stars
************

We are treated once again to a guest host, this time covering the true crime genre, along with detailing book-to-screen adaptations coming soon to theaters.

Like other episodes covering various lists, the real draw here is the background that the editors provide for each title. This episode has that in abundance. Contextual trivia such as this really helps to frame the proper way to approach these titles when listening. The editors clearly know their subject matter, particularly within their areas of passion.

The business case for producing a show such as this is to sell more audiobooks, though I never feel like I'm being sold a bill of goods. To date, the show has proven to be an effective curator of interesting titles for someone new to the Audible universe. I am happy to report that I will be purchasing my first title based upon listening to this show: "I'll Be Gone in the Dark" sounds far too good to miss!

The spontaneous banter was a highlight of this episode, giving another snapshot of a day-in-the-life-at-Audible, which is appreciated. For the first time, I had one or two laugh-out-loud moments while listening.

On the technical side, the outro music comes in wwwaaayyy early at the end. It's very low volume, so not particularly distracting.
