Story
Gideon Frayne has spent his whole working life as a policeman in the village of Dark on Bodmin Moor. His first missing-child case is eating him alive. When his own boss sends in a psychic to help with the case, he's gutted - he's a level-headed copper who doesn't believe in such things, and he can't help but think that the arrival of clairvoyant Lee Tyack is a comment on his failure to find the little girl. But Lee is hard to hate, no matter how Gideon tries. At first Lee's insights into the case make no sense, but he seems to have a window straight into Gideon's heart.

Story
Marty Bell knows what it's like to be bullied. He was the shy, overweight kid at school, and those memories have helped turn him into an excellent teacher - though he's never spread his wings beyond the remote northern village where he grew up. The last thing he needs in his life is the reappearance of Devlin Surtees, leader of the gang who made his schooldays so tough. Dev is the glamorous village hero now, flying acrobatics planes and fighter jets for the RAF. He’s just as spellbinding, handsome and infuriating as Marty recalls.

Priddy's a lost soul in a part of Cornwall the tourists don't get to see. He's young, sweet-natured, and gorgeous, but that's not enough to achieve escape velocity from his deadbeat village and rotten family life. He's a drifter and a dreamer, and self-preservation isn't his strong suit. An accidental overdose of a nightclub drug leaves him fractured, hallucinating, with too many vital circuits fried to function in a tough world. Publisher's summary
What's haunting Lee Tyack? He's moved in with Gideon Frayne, and they're both loving their new lives. But the shadow is still there - a voice from hell that torments clairvoyant Lee, and which even the pragmatic copper Gideon can hear.
Gideon's determined to protect his lover. But after a serious injury on duty, Gideon finds out the hard way that he needs protection too. His job's on the line and he's scared. Worst of all, he thinks he knows who that voice belongs to - and he can't stop Lee from heading off to confront this most terrifying ghost from his past.
When the full spring moon rises over Cornwall's rugged coast, and the veil between the worlds grows thin, Tyack and Frayne must join forces to solve a decades-old mystery that still has the power to tear their world apart.

Story
The facts are public knowledge: five people have been murdered. Each has died from a blow to the head. And the media-dubbed Prince Charming killer has left a “calling card” with each victim. A single thornless rose. But there’s another fact...one that the police haven’t made public. Something no one, except the killer and the police, should know. But Gabriel Donner does - and he can’t figure out why. All he knows is that he’s begun hearing voices, sleepwalking and dreaming vividly of the murders...as they happen.

These get better each book!
This book was fabulous! My favourite so far. I definitely recommend this series.
The stories are fast-paced, quick mysteries with romance and relationship as the central points, but with a satisfying amount of paranormal in them.
Same complaint about the narrator—not keeping voices straight, and starting to make women sound goofy.

As part of the series we continue to learn more about Gideon and Lee. In this one the series continued to grow the backstory and a mystery in the village of one of the main characters grew up in. Mysteries abound both on the natural realm and the spiritual one.

Beautiful
Another really good book in the series. I really think this series is getting better and better. I love these two as a couple.
Beautiful, low angst romance with unexplained paranormal ghostly stuff, slightly scary and creepy and the beautiful setting of Cornwall :)

The love story continues
As time passes Lee and Gideon just fall more and more in love. They move in with one another, and are fusing their lives together more and more. I love their relationship and the way they look out for one another... mind, body and soul. This was yet again another exciting story with their adventures. Just keeps getting better and better. Narration was great as always.

Ooooh, spooky!
This one has a really cool ghost story, and really nice advancement of the characters.
Audio beautifully performed by Tim Gilbert.

Much better then the Second!
My favorite thing about this author is, and I will always bring this up, the way the author describes situations and objects. Not outright telling the reader what it is, allowing the effects or interactions with it be the building blocks; it’s kind of using the negative space to describe. This book had a ton of that going on and I really appreciated it!
Story was a good surprise and realistic in its depictions. I really adore all the characters and their ways of dealing with each other. This felt like a solid move forward for the characters.
I am beginning to see that the author likes to address acceptance of tragedy. Ground it in some way and allow the characters to deal with hard choices in a realistic manner. I think that is why I did not like the second, there was less of a humbling situation going on.
Unlike the other books where I felt like the sex was just inserted for the sake of it just bing there. Here it helped show what the characters were thinking or it set up for ways their interactions might change.
It was read well though the two mains voices can blend from time to time, nothing too distracting.
Overall, very happy and am going to continue.

About Gideon
Gideon is a magnet for trouble, atleast he has a bit of humor. Good ending.
I've enjoyed the first 3 books.

.
I have really enjoyed reading these short books. I enjoyed the characters and the fanciful but suspenseful nature of the stories.
However, I do have two concerns. First, the explicit nature of the sexual content should be hinted at in the preview since there are many readers out there who would be offended by this level of content.
Secondly, I am used to the audio books of which I listen being between 10 to 15 hours long, not between 3 or 5 . When I use my monthly credit I want the audio book to last long enough to be worth that credit.
