Publisher's Summary

Best-selling author R.L. Mathewson takes on the impossible with the Anger Management series.

For listeners who love to see someone who's been to hell and back finally get their happy ending.

Sometimes you have to go through hell to get what you want....

Everyone has something in their past that they'd like to forget, but for Kylie Davis there's no escaping her past. It followed her everywhere, determined to destroy her, and to make sure that she paid for the one thing that her family could never forgive her for.

Being born.

The last thing that Hunter O'Mallery needed was an assistant, but thanks to the deal that he never should have made, he has one. As long as she stayed out of way, he'd been more than happy to leave her alone, but now that she's caught his attention, he couldn’t stop thinking about her. She intrigued him, drove him out of his mind, and he'd do anything to save her.

Should have waited for the next book

I loved this book but now I wish I would have waited for the next one to be out. This book was a mix of humor and a serious subject matter as it dealt with Kylie's abuse as a child and the way her parents continued to treat her as an adult. Hunter and Kylie help each other when she becomes his assistant. Great narration and storyline and a must read.

Loved it!

truly enjoyed this book. The story was great and the narration was outstanding. I was enthralled from beginning to end! I would have given 5 full stars had it not been for the way the story was read. Why the need for detailed play by play, Kylie said, Hunter said, etc. Other then that this was definitely a great listen. Looking forward to book 2.

🌻3 1/2 ⭐️ listen!🌻

🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻V from Kansas 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

This book has the same basic feel as the, “Neighbor from Hell,” series, without as much fun. It is also a very slow burn. Since it is the first, of the series, there is not the big cast of characters ( the Bradfords) that made the previous series so endearing; although there is hope! The Hero’s best friend in this book, is the hero of the second book and I’m hoping this book’s community, is building.

As with the previous series, the Hero is a real tool and the Heroine handles him effortlessly. There are stories of mental and physical child abuse and both these main characters bear physical and/or mental scars, which makes there journey a bit more difficult.

Even there are some difficult issues, in this book, it still is a lighter listen without a lot of unnecessary angst and drama.

I wanted to like it…

I liked the male narrator. Female narrator lost me in parts. The overall storyline I enjoyed but the dialogue was completely unbelievable and overly dramatic. The forced proximity makes no sense. The FMCs family is supposed to be the bad guys but they are as dangerous as a mad tea cup poodle….

Great Author, good book, terrible voice

I dont understand why they keep using Holly Warren. It really brought down the interest in this book. Her voice is so wooden and expressionless.

Fran Jules!!

I have listened to all of R.L. Mathewson books and this one was my least favorite. What happened to narrator Fran Jules? I was so disappointed about the story line and the narration.

horrible characters

neither character has any likeable quailities. the male is purposely abusive and the female is not smart enough to set any boundaries with her boss (the lawyer)

Pretty good listen and definitely entertaining

The only thing I can say negative about this story is how a lot of it is read in third person. Which can make it hard to follow. Other than that it's pretty good.

Mixed bag

I enjoyed this author’s “A Neighbour from Hell” series so I was looking forward to this. However it was a bit of a mixed bag. There were aspects of it that I loved with the typical R.L. Mathewson style, but how much of an a-hole he was at the start left me with resentment that didn’t leave me for a long while. It’s a good job the story is based over a year as it helps to explain how their relationship evolved. I think if he’d regretted his attitude towards her it might have lessened my lingering feelings, but it was never mentioned. Also, the whole backstory and secondary storyline with her family seemed a bit misplaced and overdone in this book. I’ll still get more from this author, and probably from this series, too.
