For anyone already aware of the threat, it’s too much information and too little action. It spends a lot of time dealing with the problem of convincing doubters. It’s a valuable book for getting someone to start preparing, but spends too much time on internal dialogue and arguing with stubborn people. Too much tension and too little progress. Don’t think I can stay with it.

The story is a vehicle for information about how to survive a CME.

It’s more than a cliffhanger. It’s in Limbo!

This genre is always hit or miss but the CME angle was interesting. I always enjoy having/hearing the build-up prior to the actual event. And the information from those trying to enlighten the main characters made me think same as the characters. I learned a few things and was kinda inspired to research morez I even relocated my old weather radio. There were several “Oh, come on!” moments with the main guy and his family. I literally said it aloud… many times. I didn’t find Jim whiny as some said, just clueless. The often soft spoken tone of the narrator’s voice did lend a bit to that but I think his friend, Lee said it best. The guy is “soft” and unprepared. But darn lucky to have a neighbor patient enough to hang around, stick with trying to change his mind and even leave him so much help, like he did. I found the antagonist storyline annoying. A junky, how original. Points for writing a book, though! And hey, had they not made “dumb” choices it would have been way shorter… Im usually listening to these mainly to pass the drive to work… so it was worth a listen to me.

I liked it.

Loved it. Characters are a little dumb at times but I guess that’s to make things more realistic. Other then that good read ready for book two.

Good!!

I don’t like that I’ll never know how this ends!! Please write the rest of the story Mr. Winchester. Loved it otherwise.

Will there be a 2?

I enjoyed this book, from Plus catalog. I like the story line, although a little too detailed. The character development was good. It was fast paced. The ending was a little unbelievable. There was a striker, who found Jim. Not realistic. But mainly, I am very disappointed that there is no sequel. Audible.com had no information regarding sequel to this book which was written 4 yrs ago.

Beware this book written in 2020. There is No book Two by 2024

Not the typical end of days story where there's a badass lead character shooting his way through the apocalypse... more like George McFly trying to get his survival shopping done. But, all in all, it kept me interested. Seems like there might not be a book 2, but I won't lose any sleep over it. To sum it up, probably not worth a credit, but a free listen is not a waste of time.

Enjoyed it
