Publisher's summary

Young Savannah Dubrinsky was a mistress of illusion, a world-famous magician capable of mesmerizing millions. But there was one - Gregori, the Dark One - who held her in terrifying thrall. Whose cold silver eyes and heated sensuality sent shivers of danger, of desire, down her slender spine.

With a dark magic all his own, Gregori - the implacable hunter, the legendary healer, the most powerful of Carpathian males - whispered in Savannah's mind that he was her destiny. That she had been born to save his immortal soul. And now, here in New Orleans, the hour had finally come to claim her. To make her completely his. In a ritual as old as time...and as inescapable as eternity.

Gregori is hot!

I love this book. It does have some dark elements but it's still entertaining. The characters were interesting and likable. Savannah was young, especially when compared to Gregori. Gregori is very set in his ways and figures that Savannah will conform to his ways because he is older and knows best. Gregori is wrong about that. Savannah teaches Gregori a few things that he wasn't prepared to learn but definitely needed to. I loved how the story ended. I recommend reading this book. Or listening to it! The Narrator does a good job with the audiobook.

Bright beginnings

Hard to listen to.
The reader showed no emotions no feelings. The story was ok, it fell flat in areas.
I liked reading the book better.

The narrator

The way he says Gregori is so frustrating, I had to stop listening so many times. He also makes Savanah sound like a wimp. I absolutely love Christine Feehan and the Dark Series. This book is one of my favorites. This narrator just didn't get it.

NOT GREGORY

The name of the hero is spelled GREGORI. No other audio book pronounces his name as though it was spelled Gregory. His pronunciation was a distraction for the entire book.

hrm

I hadn't read this in some time and as much as a I enjoy audio books I wanted to listen.
I was very disappointed with the narrator. If you're familiar with the series you may know that Gregori is a bit harder to live with as far as heros go. But the whiny value that is given to Savannah and the nasally quality to Gary rubbed my nerves bad. I bore through to the end but not still not pleased.
I own this now but not sure I'll listen again.

We NEED Abby Craden back!

The narrators from Books 3 & 4 are HORRIBLE! They take so much away from the stories that I actually had to stop listening for days, several times! Any makes the characters come alive, but the last two have committed straight up homicide! I implore you Christine Feehan, PLEASE bring back Abby Craden!

Gregori is my favorite character EVER!

Oh how I ached to read this book. I have this thing about reading books in order and after the third book Dark Gold I almost gave up on this series. However when Gregori showed up I was ready. I knew I had to power through to get to this book. I am so glad that I did.

Gregori is one of those characters that is feared and an outcast. The fact that he is the greatest healer of all his people and also the scariest person either says a lot about him. When we first meet Gregori back in Dark Prince I knew that he would be my favorite character. There is something about him that is just compelling. He does not make excuses for being his self and that is something I love about a character.

Savannah is someone who is young and she does act her age for a bit in the book but she also accepts that fact. There are times in books when the heroine is just God awful but the author tries to make the readers accept that fact. I am glad Christine Feehan does not do that with Savannah. Savannah understands that she has real fears and understands that she needs to comprise with Gregori unlike Alex with Aiden.

The book was wonderful aside from their first time. You are going to have to read the book in order to find that out. Other than that I feel for Gregori he really truly believes that he is not lovable and that he is a monster. I am so glad Savannah teaches him that he is more than what he thinks he is and is an amazing man.
